This is the first soundcore speaker we have gotten and have been genuinely satisfied. I just found out they are owned by anker which makes sense because we’ve always enjoyed their charging products and this speaker for all its might charges quickly with USB-C and holds a charge for so long I forget to charge it since it lasts for weeks with intermittent use. We have used to cookout, hanging out in the patio, playing pickleball, and working out in our gym, it’s very easy to bring around with you think. As far as sound is concerned it’s very crisp and decently loud I did bring it to my indoor volleyball game and it didn’t stand up to the ambient voice from all the other games in speakers, but I think they have a bigger stereo like speaker that might be worth giving a try.

This speaker is loud and the amount of bass is fantastic and impressive. I have not ran it through any torture tests to see how long the battery lasts or how it handles being dropped or tossed around. However I have had no issues with battery life or the material quality. If you handle your property with care I can see this lasting a long time and providing entertainment for many years to come. With electronics like this, the thing that will eventually fail will be the internal battery. That is all electronics with internal batteries though so it's assumed when you purchase it. I would highly recommend this to anyone, my best friend even bought one after he came to visit and saw how loud it got and how long it lasted.

After our Tzumi karaoke speaker started to fizzle out, I was on the hunt for a new, affordable Bluetooth speaker we could use while moving around the first floor of the house, cooking, cleaning, washing dishes, or even relaxing outside under the gazebo. After doing quite a bit of research, I landed on the Soundcore Boom 2 by Anker. I’ve had good experiences with other Anker products, so I felt pretty confident giving this one a try. Right out of the box, I was impressed with the design. It has clean lines, minimal buttons, and a solid build while still being compact and easy to carry from one location to another. My first real test was actually in my office at work, and I was overly impressed. This thing shook the room! The sound easily carried throughout our two-room office space, and honestly, the Boom 2 might be almost too much of a speaker for a small office. There is plenty of bass already, and hitting the BassUp button gives it even more. The speakers on either side also light up and visibly move with the bass, which adds a pretty cool effect. Once I got it home and played it in the kitchen with the family, it gave us exactly the type of sound we were looking for. The bass didn’t hit quite as hard in the larger, more open space as it did inside the office, which was expected, but the music still carried nicely from the kitchen into the dining room and living room. It gave us enjoyable, room-filling sound without needing a huge speaker sitting around the house. I don’t think this would be my first choice if you’re trying to power a big, rocking party. For that, I recommend moving up to a larger speaker. But for everyday music around the house, hanging out on the patio or under the gazebo, or entertaining a small group of people, I think the Soundcore Boom 2 hits a really nice sweet spot between size, portability, bass, and overall sound. For what we wanted it to do, this speaker has been a great fit.

I've used the Soundcore Boom 2 for several months, testing it in a variety of settings both indoor and outdoor. Overall I've been very happy with it, and I think it's one of the best portable speakers you can get at this price point. However, there is one major flaw that keeps it from being perfect. First, the good stuff: - Sound quality is excellent, featuring both a lot of bass and crisp highs, as well as plenty of volume when needed. I listen to a lot of bass-heavy electronic music, and this speaker absolutely delivers. - Battery life is also great, with one charge lasting for hours and hours even at higher volumes and Bass Up turned on. Even after months of use, the battery has held up and charging is rarely a concern. And since it uses USB C, it's easy to charge off of battery banks when I take it camping. - Build quality is fantastic, with a fairly rugged plastic shell and an IPX7 rating that allows it to go almost anywhere. I've used it for camping, and also as a shower speaker without any issue. I wouldn't submerse it in water (although I think it would survive) but it holds up in wet environments. - Range is great, and it's never been a problem using it outdoors for parties while carrying my phone around. I don't know the exact number, but it seems to work fine within 40-50 feet. - App works well, with EQ and lighting options. It's not really necessary, but nice to have and I've never had any issues using the app. - Connecting to other Soundcore Boom 2s is pretty easy and works well. I've only paired 2 together so far, but it's a nice feature to have when you want to fill an outdoor area with sound. Now for the single negative I've found: The Boom 2 does not have AUX IN. Sound can only be sent to it over Bluetooth, which is a huge drawback for some specific uses. I produce music and DJ, and it's basically worthless for this because Bluetooth adds a ton of latency. I have a very cheap Soundcore speaker with 3.5mm AUX IN, so the absence here is honestly surprising. It also means that some devices simply won't work with the Boom 2 if they only support 3.5mm (although this can be fixed with a separate BT transmitter, which I've tested with it). If it allowed 3.5mm AUX IN, this speaker would be perfect. But, overall, I think this is one of the best portable speakers at this price point. If you just want to play music for yourself or a group of people, you'll be very happy with this. It has limitations, but it really excels at playing music for parties, camping, going to the beach etc. If that's what you need it for, then you should absolutely get it. If you want to use it for a portable DJ setup or devices without Bluetooth, the lack of AUX input is a huge miss. It really depends on what you're going to use it for, it's just disappointing that it can't do everything.

This sounds just as good or even better than JBL models that cost 2x or even 3x the price (which I have listened to, as my friends own them). Out of the box, the sound is decent. With EQ applied, it sounds even better. The EQ settings can be found online easily, just do a quick search on sites like Reddit or Youtube. They're easy to apply through the app. The actual hardware is also nice - just large enough to have proper bass response, while not being extremely bulky. Easy to take on hikes or camping trips with the built-in handle. Don't expect a full on party box sound, but it gets plenty loud enough for regular usage.
