Love my tiny pill!
I have now been on Opill for 5 months. For the first few months, it seemed to have no effect on my period except make it heavier. Nor did it reduce my cramps by having adenomyosis. I was not happy because I had not experienced any positive benefits beyond birth control. Then during the 4th month, I had very light spotting/bleeding for about a week. I was getting excited. Then last month came and went without me even realizing that I should have gotten my period already. Sure enough it was supposed to have happened in the last 2 weeks and it didn’t! This was huge for me as someone who has suffered from cramps and very heavy periods all my life. So I now believe that I am one of the lucky ones whose periods stopped altogether! Only symptoms I noticed were breast tenderness. 5 stars!

No period pains!
UPDATE 3::: So my last period ended ten (10) days ago and I started my period again. I thought it was residual lining because it started out brown and LOTS of thick mucus. nope. Its red now and heavy. Weird. but this is one of the side effects I guess. Super annoyed but what can you do? :::UPDATE 2::: period started two days before predicted date, mild cramping compared to my crippling ones so *yay!* and pelvic pain is mild compared to my usual pain of wanting to rip my hips off. no huge weird clots this time, just small ones and no passing pain. :::UPDATE::::: So its been a month since I started, yes I gained weight, but so did my breasts?? I feel bloated but not uncomfortable, still not pregnant! no acne like some other girls said they got. My period is due in three days so we'll see if I have a lighter period again. So far, my bleeding has actually lessened. I did pass some huge questionable clots that were almost half an inch in size, but I didn't have any major cranking besides that. My period lasted seven days, normal for me. Didn't have to use over ten tampons and pads in a day I actually only needed four a day. . Side effects for me was headaches and some nausea but not too bad, don't take my word for it, I have a high pain tolerance. I've seen taking it since Saturday, 7/11/26 and so far no breast tenderness, no cramping, and as of last week, no nausea. Effectiveness so far seems to work but I still take pregnancy tests anyways lol . I did however gain weight, I gained seven pounds since I started, so that's the bad side.

Reliable, convenient, and empowering — I’ve purchased this twice already
I’ve now purchased Opill Daily Birth Control Pills (28 count, progestin-only, estrogen-free) about... 4-5 times, and that alone should say a lot about how satisfied I am with this product. Having an FDA-approved birth control option available over the counter feels genuinely empowering, especially for anyone who wants more control over their reproductive health without needing a doctor’s appointment or prescription refills. First, I really appreciate the convenience factor. Being able to order this directly and have it delivered is huge. No scheduling appointments, no pharmacy delays, and no worrying about running out while waiting on a prescription renewal. The packaging is discreet, clearly labeled, and easy to store. Each pack comes with 28 pills laid out simply, which makes it straightforward to stay consistent. What stood out to me most is that this is progestin-only and estrogen-free, which is important for people who can’t tolerate estrogen or prefer to avoid it. I personally wanted a simpler hormonal option, and Opill fit that need well. The daily routine is easy to follow, and as long as you take it at the same time every day (which is key with progestin-only pills), it integrates smoothly into your schedule. In terms of side effects, everyone’s body is different, but my experience has been very manageable. I didn’t have any extreme reactions, and things felt fairly stable after the initial adjustment period. Compared to past birth control methods I’ve tried, this has been gentler overall. I also appreciate that the information provided in the box is clear and thorough, explaining how to take it properly and what to expect. Another big plus is peace of mind. Knowing I have consistent, reliable contraception on hand without jumping through hoops has reduced a lot of stress. For people with busy schedules, limited healthcare access, or anxiety around appointments, this product can truly be a game changer. I also want to mention affordability and accessibility. While it’s not the cheapest item out there, considering it’s prescription-free and FDA-approved, I feel the price is fair. I’ve already repurchased once and plan to continue using it because it fits my lifestyle and needs. Of course, this isn’t a “take it whenever” kind of pill — timing matters, and you do have to be disciplined about daily use. If you’re someone who struggles with consistency, that’s something to seriously consider. But if you can stick to a routine, this works exactly as intended. Overall, I’m genuinely impressed with Opill. It’s reliable, easy to access, and thoughtfully designed for everyday use. Buying it twice wasn’t an accident — it’s become part of my regular routine, and I’m grateful to finally have an over-the-counter option that feels safe, straightforward, and empowering. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a convenient, estrogen-free birth control option without needing a prescription.

BEST PILL EVER
I was on combo pills for the longest time and I had a really hard time getting aroused, I gained weight, my periods were horrible but this pill has given me nothing but pluses! I have my sex drive back and it’s super easy to use because it’s such a small pill. I love the price since it’s cheaper than most pills. I bought a stock pile it’s literally the best.

LOVE Opill!
I’ve been using Opill for over 6 months. It’s been great for me! Side effects the first month included nausea, headaches and sore breasts. By the second month I was not experiencing any negative side effects! Which is a huge plus for me, I’m extremely sensitive to BC and have always had horrible experiences with all others before trying Opill. I was really nervous about how well it would work to prevent pregnancy, I was taking a pregnancy test every month for awhile just to ease my mind & so far it’s been adequate protection, I make sure to take it at the same time every day and not miss any doses. Keep in mind the morning after pill(emergency contraceptives), antibiotics and certain medications can reduce your protection and prevent Opill from working. The pill itself is tiny and easy to take. The price is great especially compared to the cost of the BC my Dr. prescribed that would’ve cost me $400 per month. Paying $18 with no doctor appt expenses is a much more cost effective option. My periods haven’t changed much, I still have them regularly at the same time every month but they’re much lighter and only last 1-2 days. Prior to Opill I was having very heavy periods with heavy clotting and it’s been great to have such light periods now. It feels like it has helped with my PCOS and PMDD as I feel much more stable throughout the month and I don’t feel drastic spikes and crashes in my hormones like I did before. I’ve had no negative emotional symptoms, my mood has improved and been stable, no increase in depression or mood swings like I previously experienced with other BC pills. It has not negatively affected my libido, if anything it’s improved that too, especially knowing I’m protected. I highly recommend Opill, I’m very happy with it and I’m so glad I gave it a try. It’s been such a relief to find something that works well without causing havoc in my body and I no longer have to live with terrible symptoms just to be protected.

WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW IN 2-3 MONTHS
Okay, I just purchased it and it arrived today. I will update my review in the future to share how it affected me both positively and negatively. The time it takes for Opill (norethindrone) to become effective depends entirely on when in your menstrual cycle you start taking it. Because of this, I will take it on Day 1 of my menstrual cycle (actual flow, not spotting). Why? After reading pages of info on how it works, I learned it works immediately during this time. If you take your first pill on the first day of your menstrual bleeding (Day 1), you are protected against pregnancy right away. You do not need to use backup contraception. This version of birth control has strict timing. You must take it at the same time every day, within a 3-hour window. POPs like this one are often recommended for people who cannot take estrogen due to health risks like a history of blood clots, high blood pressure, migraines, or those who are breastfeeding. Irregular bleeding or spotting between periods or changes in the timing or flow of your period is the most common side effect. I am hoping this does not happen to me, but if it does, it will be in the update. I read it usually subsides after 2-3 months if you experience it, so I will update this review around this time. ______________________________ 10/15/26 Update. Unfortunately in spite of being meticulous in taking the pill daily on time after about 1 month of taking the pill, the 1st menstrual cycle I had while on the pill caused me for the 1st time in my life to have a 14 week cycle and terrible menstrual cramps. I believe the only reason it was 14 days is because I had to stop the pill lest I have an even longer cycle. Another reaction I had was feeling lethargic and uncomfortable, I would suddenly feel my emotions become unstable and it was quite uncomfortable. I did not like myself while on this pill. Furthermore, the pill caused pigment to increase on a certain body part, which is a side effect that I wish I would have paid attention to as a potential side effect and have taken it seriously. I also had no mood to have intimacy with my partner while on this pill. However, once I stopped it, shortly after I regained my

Overall positive experience
I have been on the Opill for a good 2.5 months now and want to share my experience. It can be very scary to try a new birth control (this was my first ever), and some of the reviews had me shaking in my boots.lol But overall it has been a good experience and I hope I can help ease some worries if you are thinking about trying the Opill. First few days: I didn’t really notice any side effects other than maybe feeling a bit more tired at night. I take my pill at 8pm. First few weeks: I’ve always dealt with some occasional acne, and this didn’t seem to make it any worse (or help). I also didn’t notice any notable bloating or weight gain, but I am also very active and eat pretty healthy which probably helped with digestion/water retention. First couple months: my period stayed on track and I did not experience any spotting in between periods. I did possibly feel like period symptoms were a little worse (irritability and pain), but my periods also seemed a bit shorter (3-4 days instead of 4-5) which felt like a bonus. Final thoughts: the main negative side effect I may be experiencing is worsened anxiety/depression (which I have also always struggled with). It still feels manageable, just maybe a bit worse than normal. But I have also recently moved and lost a couple of loved ones, so it’s very possible this has been totally circumstantial and not related to the birth control. I am going to give it another month or two and see! Overall I feel like this is a safe, affordable, easy, and manageable way to be on birth control. If you are on the fence I recommend giving it a try for a few months!

Almost 2 years taking Opill
Honestly, I’ve used it for almost 2 years now: For the first 4 months I didn’t feel much side effects besides being more emotional. 6+ months I did start getting two periods a month which is what I currently deal with it. Cramps are about the same as they were prior to this BC. As of late, My periods have a spread out cycle of my first period, assumingly the ovulation cycle between periods depending 3-5 days and another longer period that “fades” in and out for another week, and then no period for about 3-4 weeks. That’s really my only con with it. I haven’t had any pregnancy happen with this and I use it on time every night. I’m not entirely sure if I had weight gain from it (perhaps alittle) but personally I do not have many side effects or if I do they’re not drastic enough to notice or negatively affect my everyday life.
