I have a piece of pipe somewhere that's slipped away that was adequate for the job. However, this lift bar is longer and has a bend making the start of the lift easier. The long end is etched increasing the grip a bit.It's a simple tool that should last. This is a pretty simple product you use to lever up the weight distribution bar on your hitch. This bar is well made...is long enough to give you some added ooomph to snap the weight distribution bar up so you can lock it in position. The little bend at the end of the tube gives it an advantage with this too...it's like having a longer fulcrum to move an object with...the curve does help.Tried this on my hitch and was so happy with it, I put the original bar in the trailer as the back up/spare. Don't think I'll ever need another one. as this bar is made to last.
