These jars are great, the perfect size for jams and sourdough. I use these to feed my sourdough starter for making bread. The lid disc sits happily on top and my starter rises nicely, I also store my discard/main starter in the fridge in one of these jars and never have a problem. I've also used these for jams and especially for christmas mincemeat, once properly sterilised and processed the lids have never failed and always created an airtight seal which has kept the contents fresh for years. The durability is what you would expect from Kilner, aside from user error - i.e. dropping one, thermal shock, i've never had one break on me. I've even used smaller ones in the freezer with no problem at all for things like pesto - just remember to leave a little headspace for expansion. When they're down to less than Β£3 a jar it's an absolute steal. Review: Love them. - Great jas, use them in yohurt making and has a wide enoght top to put a spoon in.
