Small build area but an excellent two-extruder model for the price.
First a word about my star ratings. I cannot rate the printer for adhesion because before doing anything else I changed the print bed for the flexible magnetic bed which is 5 star excellent. I also have some difficulty rating it for beginners - a total beginner is more likely to use the duplicate printing or the mirrored option much as they would use a single extruder model. The more complicated set-up makes this printer less suitable, and it is not helped by the inevitably more complex user software. For an experienced user moving to an independent dual extruder (IDEX) printer it is probably OK if you read the manuals first instead of going down a few blind alleys like I did. The pre-set parameters seem to be OK but some things I am used to changing are missing from, or deeply buried in the slicer menus.Print quality is generally very good but as always it depends on how consistent the filament is. The built-on spool holders are nice for spools with 50mm centres, but for larger ones you would need to design and 3D print retaining bushes.Overall, I am pleased with it, especially for the money. But thinking about some of the things I have made I was right to get a single extruder model with a much larger print volume first.

Bought this. Wish I didn't.
I use a number if 3D printers. This seemed to be good for the money. Slicing software is basic and not nice. One of the extruder caught fire and the customer support was non-existent. I was told to look at Facebook groups for support, for a 3 week old printer. Quality enough print but object finish is rough. Supports are often impossible to remove even reducing supports to a minimum. Would spend money elsewhere.

Looks and feels Quality but disappointing
I was really excited for this printer when it arrived. The build quality is great but it is MASSIVE for the size of the build plate which for me is too small to be truly useful.Firstly if you are getting one of these buy some type of removable build plate along with it. Dont even consider opening the box until it has arrived. Seriously, save yourself the pain because those prints WELD on and you’ll be chiselling away, hacking at your prints, fearing for your printers life and generally messing up your levelling every time.Ultimately I was expecting really great things but the print quality was average at best and probably not up to the standard of my Ender 3. The benefit of course is the two colour printing but you’re missing a lot of simple key features including “pause at layer height” whicb does not exist and you have to watch and do a manual pause at the right moment if you want to filament swap at layers. Also there is NO option to swap to the other extuder at a certain layer height so even printing something as simple as a sign with the base in one colour and letters in another require some fettling because of course you cant auto-pause it either. What could be a great printer is massively let down by its extremely crappy software.Even the two colour prints are not that clean because the second printer head drags over the top and deposits bits even with the ‘wipe wall’ and you get little pieces of each colour contaminating the next.If you are new to 3D printing go for the Creality Ender 3. That simple little workhorse of a printer is bomb proof and will see you right for almost any project. If you fancy some tinkering and more adventurous colouring then this is an OK option but it didnt live up to my initial impression and I definitely wouldnt buy it again.

Cheaply Made, Unreliable and unnecessarily noisy
I bought this as my first foray into 3D printing after watching the price fall over 2 years, wanting an enclosed machine with dual extruders. What an utter disappointment. I could have bought a cheaper single extruder open machine 3 years ago, and had all the fun that goes with it.After a few days, I tried printing with both extruders, I found the white PLA was printing like foam instead of plastic. At first I thought it was the colour so I tried another roll that I'd bought, same results. Then the nozzle clogged on that extruder, so I stripped down the extruder to clean the nozzle, which is when I found that the temperature sensor on that side was broken and was hanging just touching the heater block. When I got the nozzle off, I found that the extruder had overheated so much it had scorched the Teflon tube inside! At first I thought to just get a replacement, which are just £4, but the at checkout I saw £25 pounds shipping!!! So I started a return and ordered another one of these (what was I thinking?)The second machine arrived, I checked it over, no broken temp sensor, and got it all set up. merrily printing away with a noise like a german techno band from the 90's, I found that the Print volume of this is just too small for anything meaningful, so I started looking at other machines. I immediately found the Creality Ender 3 Max Neo on sale for £100 less than this one. It's got a huge print volume (Stormtrooper helmet in one print!). So I ordered one. as soon as I got that set up and running, I realised that the Flashforge is a lot noisier than it should be.Online research revealed you can simply change the motor driver chips for a better product, and they instantly work silently. The full set of parts for this is just £7, shows how cheaply made this is.I was considering the chip upgrade, and then the new one started to get unreliable after just 2 weeks. It jams constantly, halfway through prints, and the quality is nothing like the standard of the cheaper, quieter Creality machine. After the sixth nozzle strip down to clear a clogged tube, and finding yet another piece of scorched teflon, I decided enough is enough and it went back. The parts on this machine are impossible to get in the UK and are all non-standard, so you can't even use generics. Parts from anywhere are ultimately drop shipped from China with a £25 per item shipping charge. The build surface lasts about 3 weeks, and those are £4 + £25 P&P EACHDon't buy this or any other Flashforge product, either go for the superb Creality range, or go up to something like the Qidi tech if you want an enclosed dual extruder. Do your research first, find out how much Nozzles and print surfaces are, and check availability and shipping cost too. The flashforge 'UK' shop is actually just a front page for the US shop that ships from China at insane shipping charges.

Faulty Boards
I ordered this product because I had a single extruder from this company in my classroom. When it arrived (UPS) the box looked as if it had been dropped. I hoped it was well packaged, which it was. However, upon powering it up, it made an loud vibration noise. So I processed the return and ordered directly from FlashForge. The box arrived in perfect condition, however the result was the same; loud vibration noise. Looking it up, everyone that experienced this problem said it was a faulty board. Nice design, but the boards seem to be too sensitive.

Guter,sehr lauter 3D Drucker
