The Thule Chasm collection is an excellent choice for those seeking durable and versatile travel bags. After using the 70L size extensively on a three-week trip to Europe, I found it to exceed my expectations.Bag Build: The bag is made from 900D polyester. The “D” in “900D” is an abbreviation for the denier of the fabric, indicating its thickness and density. Generally, bags fabric could come in 300D, 600D, 900D, and larger. The larger the number, the higher durability of the bag. With this Thule bag, the material is strong, resilient, and water-resistant. It is suitable for various weather scenarios.The bag is equipped with heavy-duty zippers that are big and strong, ensuring secure closure. There are also external compression straps that can help reduce the bag’s size when it is not fully packed or to keep the contents more compact inside. There are two mesh pockets inside (one smaller and one larger) for organizing smaller items.The bottom of the bag is padded. Despite its sturdy construction, the bag is quite forgiving and can be squeezed into tight spaces, something that is particularly useful when traveling.Carrying Options: There are multiple carrying handles around the bag, giving several configuration options to make it work for your needs. There are removable backpack straps that are easy to attach and detach. One end of the straps is attached to a clip while the other end is easily thread through. Additionally, there are two side panel straps that can be made longer and thus making the bag easy to side carry. Note that the bag does not come with one long strap for traditional shoulder duffel-style carrying. If that is your preferred method, this bag may not be the perfect fit.Size Considerations: The Thule Chasm collection comes in multiple sizes. This would be airline dependent, but the 40L does work as a carry-on. It fits in the overhead compartment and under the seat (when not overly stuffed). Anything larger than the 40L needs to be checked. I found the 70L size the perfect size for me. Coupled with packing cubes, I managed to pack for three weeks for myself and child.Usability: The standout feature of this bag is the wide opening. This allows full access to the main compartment. The design in this bag is superior to traditional backpacks that only offer top-down access. The interior of the main compartment is lined with light fabric, making it easier to see and organize your belongings.This travel bag includes a handy storage bag which allows you to fold the duffel down into compact form for storage. When traveling, I personally used this storage bag as a laundry bag.Overall: A highly durable, versatile, and user-friendly bag. Cool color variety to suit your personality. I used this duffel bag as a carry on from Oklahoma to Florida. Had to fit both my stuff and my boyfriend’s. It can fit so much inside! I used the Thule compression cubes so it was able to fit even more!Besides: waterproof? Check. Has straps to use as a backpack? Check. It’s cute? Check! Aaaand it comes inside another little pouch that you can use for other stuff. Amazing design and quality. I’m thinking of getting another one for my bf!

Travelled to BVI for a sailing trip and purchased this bag. It’s a great size , fitting a lot of clothes, shoes and toiletries.Full, i still comfortably could strap the bag on my back through the airport.My daughter used this bag for her trip overseas. Same experience. Say and roomy.What’s more, this bag is extremely durable.Highly recommend

This 90l bag is perfect size and is designed well. It has shoulder straps to carry it as a backpack and several storage compartments which come in handy. The material and zippers are sturdy. Overall very happy with it.

I ended up returning the Thule bag in exchange for a Patagonia black hole duffel. That said, the Thule was well constructed and designed. I packs nicely with various openings and pockets with a 40L capacity. If your weight limits are strict, it's a bit heavier than some alternatives.I did not like its feel - its' * rubber or vinyl?* construction felt very stiff. On the other hand, I would suspect it is quite rugged. I won't go into a comparison of the Thule vs. Patagonia; both have strengths and weaknesses. Many would undoubtedly prefer the Thule.One note - the new bag was stuffed into a small bag on arrival. It was hard to extract and it would seem impossible to put it back into that bag. When out, it needed some help to return to the shape you wish to use while traveling.

This thing is huge. It’s waterproof and holds enough stuff for a 2 week trip for me. Plus it got absolutely poured on in the rain and all my stuff inside was dry. Can’t really ask for much more than that.

Great product for travel.

Tested on camping trips to Colorado river and Utah.-Good quality for price.-Water resistant not waterproof.-You can spray with water but if you submerge for a length of time the water will penetrate the zippers.-40ml has sufficient room for 1 person’s gear 7 days-2 interior pockets very helpful to separate keys lights wallet etc-1 exterior zipper pocket helpful to store wallet when carrying and need quick access-straps are strong and easy to adjust for your body height weight-stitching is good quality-2 strong handles on each end- comfortable backpack strapsNOTE:-this is NOT a hiking backpack!!!-this is not intended for scuba trips!!!-this is not intended for exposure to constant water like a canoe trip-if you need waterproof bag then pay the extra money and make sure it states: Waterproof 💦-this bag is a strong travel bag for travelers that need a compact durable pack when a traditional suitcase is not permitted or not practicable.-our river guide recommended this bag because it’s strong and collapsible into a large waterproof bag 50ml/7ml-also don’t expect this bag to not get scratched or torn by airline baggage handlers.- it can get scratched and torn over time.-I use this bag to travel to camping destinations then use my backpack separately.BUY FOR YOUR INTENDED PURPOSE: a strong compact easy to carry collapsible water resistant shoulder travel bag
