If’s fast at a fair price but it is very large so can be awkward on certain systems and situations

The SK Hynix Tube T31 Stick is plastic. That is okay. The problem is, when in use, it warms up and outgases. This means that the plastic USB stick starts smelling with horrible intensity that is uncomfortable and a huge concern about negative health effects from this 'deliberate' fault.

When I first saw this drive, I thought... an SSD USB stick? Hmm, I could really use something like that. I'm an amateur photographer & travel frequently. I carry multiple memory cards for my mirrorless camera, so having a drive like this to offload files to before a long trip is over would be fantastic. I decided to take the plunge and order this, because hey... why not? My Microsoft Surface Pro that I travel with only has a 256GB SSD, and I really hate having to delete anything I copy to it while on the road (I do this after copying the data off the device at the end of a trip). This drive makes SO much sense as a traveling photo/video backup. Unboxing is nice. The packaging is all paper based, so no plastic! Huzzah! It's easy to open and get the drive out -- all that's in the box is the drive and a couple of info sheets. Plugging the drive in, I just wanted to see what Windows says about it -- that's the first attached image. It comes up as having 476GB available. OK. Onto evaluating speed: So, if you don't have the correct USB port, you probably won't get the speeds they advertise, but my desktop PC does in fact have a type-A USB 3.2 gen 2 port, so that's what I used to run my crystaldiskmark benchmarks. See attached screenshots -- I did, in fact, nearly get the 1000 MB/s speeds -- over that for read, almost that for write. Since advertised speeds are ideals, I figure a quick bench will determine that -- real world usage, I don't expect to get that all the time, depending on what I'm connecting it to. My PC that I ran this test on has an 11th gen core i7 CPU and 32GB ram. Size -- it's pretty much what you'd expect if you're familiar with the physical size of most common NVME SSDs -- that, plus a pretty decent sized heatsink/housing. They've also been wise enough to add a cap over the USB port -- beware, though, that cap could be easily lost -- I may look for ways to attach the cap to the drive when it's off, lest I leave it on the floor of a hotel room. Photos show the drive next to a regular SD card for size comparison. This drive is fantastic just testing it out. Only time and usage will tell on how long it will last, how well it performs overall, including with large file sizes, etc -- if that doesn't go well, I'll be back to update this review, but first impressions are that it's exactly as advertised, and I'm really excited to add this to my gear!

Am Ende ist es ein etwas größerer Usb-Stick der der rasend schnell ist. Am besten zu nutzen an Stand PC, oder Laptob wenn schnell größere Daten transportiert werden müssen. Bei mir hatte der Stick/Ssd-Stick knapp 450Mb schreibend bei verschieden großer Dateien. War aber auch nur ein USB 3.1 Abschluss mit G/bits pro Sekunde. Also perfekt so wie es beschrieben ist. Wenn der (Stick) zu klein wird dann gibt es ja noch den mit 1tb. Also ein sattes Pro/Kauf Argument für dieses Pridukt.

J'ai acheté ce disque dure dabord pour sa taille, en changement d'ordinateur, j'avais besoin de quelque chose qui se branche facillement, de rapide, et du sufisament grande capacité pour vider le précédent PC dans le nouveau en une seule foi. Ce petit disque dure coche toute ces case, il est petit, se branche comme une simple clé USB et puis ses 512 GO m'ont permis de réaliser le transfère en une seule fois. Puisque c'est un. SSD, ça m'as pris très peu de temps. Parfait. Je pense en racheter 2 de plus lors de la prochaine promotion !

Youtubeで単なるUSBメモリに毛が生えたレベルじゃねぇぞ、という謳い文句に惹かれてこのタイプのSSDを探していましたが、容量、速度的に価格からしてベストだと思い購入。 性能面は期待通り文句なしだったものの、フォルムがずんぐりむっくりのため、近隣のUSB口にマウス等がさせないため、１点減点です。
