Once having gently wiped the repro clean I sought to apply a satin varnish to both protect and enhance the work, not knowing whether the applied paint was oil or acrylic. Not to worry - on a warm breezeless day I sprayed the painting gently outside without over-applying, which dried pretty rapidly with speedy loss of odour. I am delighted with the result and have plenty of varnish left should I wish to apply another fine coat. This product is superb. Review: Sprays evenly no clogging - Excellent product. Works very well on mixed media acrylic painting. Applied three layers waiting a day between each layer of varnish. Any problems with drying to a dull patchy finish.** A: i have used the 400ml before in large textured paintings without any issue but please don't buy the 200ml..makes a big patchy mess for some reason.. **Q: Can you use this on watercolour?** A: It's not usual to varnish watercolour. It is safest behind glass. If you tried varnish it may affect the pigment and/ or the watercolour paper. **Q: Can I use this a week after finishing my painting. Or is it best to leave for months to dry our?** A: Hi. I am using acrylic paint on canvas, usually giving 1 week to dry, before the varnish. **Q: This says its for oil paints i never noticed when i bought just read comments... can I use this on my acrylic paintings on canvas and on paper?** A: I have used this on a number of canvases painted with acrylics and it’s fine.
