I have an electric stove so I really don't know exactly what the temperature is of the water. But even when I pour it in there you heard no popping. No breaking no crystalline over. I just think it's a really good product and I'm so appreciative. You can see what's going on while it's steeping and you can use raw tea in it. However, if it's too small, it will leak out through the hose into the main glass so you do have to be careful with that.
