I purchased this book after purchasing a June Rollins artwork. I found the instructions to be really helpful, especially the parts about how the alcohol inks act and react on Yupo and tile. She gives great examples and tells you what brand and ink colors she used. She identifies the differences among the three top brands of inks and how they are alike and differ. A very reasonably priced book for what you get.

Rollins does an excellent job explaining how to work with a variety of alcohol ink brands. I have experience working with these inks, but she expanded my knowledge and presented some new techniques that I can apply. The photographs are very helpful (and beautiful), especially when explaining the 20 step process of making a Dreamscape. She also gives good online sources for ordering inks and other materials necessary. In addition she gives ideas for using items that you have around the house like straws and coffee stirrers to create texture in your art work. This book is worth every penny! You won't be disappointed with your purchase.

This book is a great launching pad to begin a journey into the world of alcohol ink. Rollins shares with us the basics; such as working surfaces, various brands of ink and how they differ, and techniques with easy to find tools. Her beautiful Dreamscapes are a continuous sours of inspiration. If you want to begin working with alcohol inks this book will lead the way.

This little book has great suggestions for the artist using alcohol inks on Yupo paper. This is a new technique for me, and I am so impressed with the work of June Rollins. The beautiful color and blending of the inks lends to some awesome landscape paintings.

I just received June Rollins' beautiful and absolutely essential teaching reference guide on Alcohol Inks. She expertly explains the inks and each step of the process so that even a novice, following June's techniques, can feel like a real artist. I love the explanation of alcohol inks and the various types of inks used in her tutorials. The detail in which June step-by-step demonstrates painting on tile, the tools she uses, and the tiled boxes she creates is just amazing. .This is a must have for anyone interested in knowing more about the process. This book is written by someone who truly wants to teach others about the beauty of alcohol inks.

The black and white photos which are featured in the "Look Inside" option make for GORGEOUS value paintings, however, you REALLY need the book to see these pieces in color! Be aware, as pretty as it is, this book is not just for looking through and putting on the shelf. This book is meant to inspire, excite, and teach. It points you in all the right directions, and eases your way into the addictive world of Alcohol Inks. If you are wondering if it is for you, stop wondering-get the book, get the inks, and join the party!!

What a fabulous book! It has everything necessary for a beginner to jump into the medium and succeed. Ms Rollins has presented it all in a clear, well laid out format, and addressed many issues that might stymie the first time user. The result is a benchmark "ai bible" of techniques, allowing artists to move beyond the polished stone technique so many of us might have been trapped in. Another word of thanks is due for her setting up the Facebook group where artists can "meet" to expand their art, and share with others.

There is a lot of information in this book, but it is extremely repetivie. Not much variety in the paintings.

A great book for inspiring art made with Alcohol Inks. Beautiful illustrations by the Artist, June Rollins.Just looking through this book makes you want to get the ink flowing and see what you can create.I love it!

Great overview easy to understand and encouraging for beginners. Thank you I can't wait to try the inks on yupo

L'ouvrage est intéressant mais il manque de présentation de technique variées. On trouve des exemples qui selon moi se ressemblent trop. Cependant, je crois que l'ouvrage est assez sympa lorsu'on débute et surtout que l'on ne cherche pas à avoir une forme de maîtrise des encres à alcool qui dépasse la pratique sensitive. Pour moi les deux sont liées alors après cet ouvrage, celui de Cathy TAYLOR me semble plus englobant (Pigments of Your Imagination: Creating with...Cathy Taylor)
