This is a great Fjallraven Kanken backpack! It’s slightly larger than the Classic Kanken backpack, has more storage options, and offers a much more comfortable and secure fit. What I really like—the padded straps, the two side pockets for water bottles, the cushioned laptop compartment, the underneath zipper access, and the chest strap that holds the backpack in place no matter how active I am. This backpack feels like it will last a lifetime! Like all GENUINE Fjallraven products, this backpack is well-made, super durable and sturdy, and the workmanship is of exceptionally high quality. CAVEAT—there are A LOT of fakes and imitation Kanken backpacks out there. Many of them are good imitations and at first glance, the fakes look like a genuine Kanken. However, the imitations do not hold up! The seams will fray, color will fade, they are not water-resistant, material collects dust, the zipper breaks, etc. A genuine Kanken will not do any of these things and the backpack material of a genuine Kanken should soften nicely with use over time. Buyer beware of fakes. The majority of sellers on here are NOT authorized Fjallraven sellers. Here is the link to the Fjallraven list of licensed sellers. I recommend checking this list on the Fjallraven site to ensure who you’re buying from is legitimate (https://www.fjallraven.com/us/en-us/customer-service/store-locator). If the vendor on Amazon is not a Fjallraven authorized seller (for example, the seller is not on Fjallraven’s online retailer authorized list), there is a high probability the backpack is a fake or imitation. I have found that 1) Great Lakes Outpost and 2) Footprint USA, both sell genuine Kanken backpacks on Amazon. These two vendors are authorized Fjallraven sellers and their prices are still pretty competitive. The color selections may be limited though. In my personal experience, the Kankens from Great Lakes Outpost and/or Footprint are the real thing. I also confirmed this info with Fjallraven, because I wanted to be sure I was getting an original product. (All originals will have a lifetime warranty—Fjallraven will refuse to repair knock-offs and imitations.) If you feel leery about buying on Amazon and ending up with a fake (as I initially was), an alternative is to purchase directly from Fjallraven. However, Amazon prices are quite discounted and you will probably pay full price if you buy directly from Fjallraven. (Personally, I would happily pay $20-$30 more to ensure what I’m buying is legitimate. In the long run, it is money well-spent, in my humble opinion.)

An upgraded version of the usual kanken. Larger side pockets for water bottles which fits a Nalgene. Additional zippered bottom to fit slippers or sandals. Padded back mesh & padded strap makes it it more comfortable to carry.
