Holds an Apple Pencil and also allows you to use the Apple keyboard without removing the case. Pretty sturdy. I never had an Apple product before. I ordered the iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil, not realizing how much of the time I would want the Pencil nearby. This holds the Pencil so safely and well that at first I had a hard time getting it out, but that is better than losing the Pencil! Then I worked out that I can just dig out the point with my fingernail, and it will come on out. I am not fearful of the Pencil dropping out somewhere and it is always handy. I like that the bumper edges of the case provide some corner protection to the iPad, and make it more comfortable to hold, while still displaying the elegant back of the space gray iPad. I use the Apple iPad keyboard with Smart Connector all the time, so it was important to me that the case allow for keyboard attachment. It works perfectly with the case. I have the 10.5 1st gen iPad Pro.
