Gordon West Technician Class FCC Element 2 Amateur Radio License Preparation 10th Edition 2022-2026

This book was a great study aid. Using this book and online practice exams, I passed my Technician Class exam.I ordered the General Class book from the same series.

If you are buying this book. Make sure it is the current book and it is not past June 30, 2026. Because many of the questions may have changed.This is a great book. I have bought this book and every version of this book for the past 20 years. Several of my family members have passed the test and got their licenses. Some were as young as 12 years old when they did it. What is helpful is the audio CD set that you can purchase seperatly to listen to. The audio recordings of Gordon West WB6NOA are simple and easy to listen to. And are especially helpful for young children to listen to. I have perhaps bought and given away countless numbers of this book.This book used to be sold by the W5YI group, but is now sold by the ARRL. I have always prefered this version of study material to the one that was published by the ARRL.This version of the book now no longer comes with the CD called ON THE AIR!. This was the audio of signals and transmissions on the air. This had all kinds of interesting things like. Welcome to HF. 6-meter skywave. Talk to the astronauts. Special events stations. Your satelite communications. Communicate on microwave.You can probably still get this CD with the purchase of a 2018-2022 or older book. As long as it is still included with it.This new 2022-2026 version of the book is almost identical to the previous version of the book.I do not see the Audio CDs currently listed for sale on Amazon. Usually, they list for about $40. These are worth the money.If I had the choice of the CDs or the $30 Book Version. I would spend the money on the Audio Version. If you want a free study guide, there is a great downloadable version done by KB6NU. Also on YouTube, there is a great channel for the study called Ham Radio Crash Course. There are also other places online where you can do practice tests.

This book is a wonderful resource for the Technician Class Exam.

This is a great book for those wanting to get their tech license. Easier to understand explanations more in laymen terms. Don’t be intimidated by the test get your ticket you will what you need as you go there is a lot of Elmer’s to help you

I have used Gordon West for all five classes of my amateur radio license dating back to 1986, yes there are now only three classes of license, I purchased this book for my wife to get her technician ticket however in studying with this book and also taking study question reviews at hamstudy.org I've noticed that not all the questions in the question pool are included in this book, so far I have found almost seven questions that are not in the book and being a volunteer Examiner that can make the difference between a pass and fail.

This book is packed with information. It gave me everything I needed and then some to pass my technician class.

This book covered it all. Read through it and took the sample test a couple times. Easy questions, at least for me. I took the Amateur radio exam and got a 100% on it. Have my Technician license now.
