Review: They started with a good idea, but the implementation made it useless for me. - I was looking for a replacement for an old Dampit humidifier. I don't want something that humidifies a guitar case, but rather sits inside the guitar body with a cover over the sound hole, so it doesn't need to be in a case to work and it's not releasing its humidity into the surroundings. The web listing for this item included two photos -- one of which looks like my old Dampit, with a plastic thing that is shaped to fit into place and cover the entire sound hole; the other shows that the shape hasn't been cut away, so it doesn't just slide in and stay there. If it had matched the first photo, it would have been perfect. But matching the other photo means that it's totally useless for my purposes. I'm returning it for a refund.

If you live in the north during the winter months this is an absolute to keep your instrument humidified. Especially if you leave your instrument out of the case. Use distilled water and rewet it about every 4 days.

It literally stinks. Not sure what that’s about. I used it overnight to hydrate a guitar. Stunk up the room. I originally purchased two of them. I returned one of them. I’ll use this as a last resort.
