A quality item
Very strong and beautiful; compact for small places 🤩 Specially in white and very easy to use with 51mm portafilter. Get it in special price if you what to save money or want to customize it. Very worth it. And functional.

Looks and works amazing
This thing is solid. It’s beautiful and works like described. I have zero complaints. I like the vertical orientation, most others I have seen are horizontal and that didn’t work with our set up so this was great. The materials are quality and it works like it should.

Nice Organizer, but not Perfect
Purchased this to help organize my tools, but the tamping station just didn’t work for my needs, hence the 4 stars. The way the tamping holder is designed, the portafilter sits on top of the rubber piece, so when you place an angled bottomless PF down, it just wants to fall out. And no, you can’t remove the rubber inserts because the PF won’t be level. I almost sent this back, but the rest of the station held exactly what I needed for my workflow and the quality was solid. So, I decided to remove the tamping station router out the top 3/16” to accommodate my scale and just use the former tamping area for filter storage. Now I use a dedicated tamping station (also ECM) that holds all my PFs securely. Some may be thinking “why would you carve into a $100 storage block like this?” Well, I liked the quality, look and there were no unnecessary storage slots I wouldn’t use. It just made it work better (for me at least). If you’re using a portafilter with a spout, I’m sure this will work for you. However, if your daily driver is an angled bottomless, keep looking.

Compact and Well-Built Espresso Station
I purchased this espresso station for my coffee bar featuring a Lelit Bianca v3. Since I didn't have much space for the machine, grinder, and room to prepare my pucks. This Normcore station was a perfect fit with a cut-out for tamping, which fits my Lelit 58mm portafilter perfectly. It also has cut-outs for my Normcore spring-loaded tamper, gravity distribution tool, coffee brushes, and two puck screens. The wood is sturdy, beautiful, and matches our design perfectly. Highly recommended

Disappointing product, disappointing customer service
I wanted to like it, but… The wood lip of the tamping spot goes higher than the silicone insert causing the portafilter to sit at an angle. The included height inserts do not fit with my portafilter to correct said issue, (I have a Rancillio Sylvia.) When I take the silicone insert out and just use that, it sits perfectly, so that leads me to believe the wood was just not cut properly. Second, the back hole seems to be cut too deep? The promotion images show that it is used with a WDT distribution tool with the handle sticking high out of the hole. I actually ordered said WDT distribution tool with the mat to complete my set of supplies, thinking that the mat was designed to hold it. The hole is cut so deep that the handle is completely covered, so to grab the tool you have to pick it up by the wire prongs. In other review images it also looks to be cut much more shallow. I contacted Normcore customer service weeks ago hoping to do an exchange because I genuinely like the look/rest of product besides these two issues. I think that they could be manufacturing issues with the particular tamp mat I received, but two+ weeks later I have heard nothing from them. Unfortunately, I have to return the product before the return window closes. I won’t be buying anything else from Normcore, since I can’t trust that I will get a response if I have an issue.

Premium build and looks great, very functional
It's an excellent addition to my coffee station and I love the premium finish of the wood. It has a solid heft to it which allows it to be very stable during tamping. What's a bit awkward is that the Normcore 58mm flat portafilter for E61 machines doesn't actually like completely flat in the tamping station. It slants downwards towards the handle instead, but it's not a dealbreaker since I'm still getting a really solid tamp out of it.

Terrible Design
This item is aesthetically beautiful and appears well made but the design is mind-numbingly stupid. Its entire purpose is to hold your portafilter securely for tamping and prep, yet fails miserably that one function. No matter how you seat the portafilter, it will not be level with the table, and it will constantly want to slide off the slippery, down-angled rubber mat. I tried with both a bottomless ECM portafilter and a spouted Profitec portafilter, neither worked correctly. The section of the wood body that makes contact with the portafilter already had several scuffs on it from just a few uses. Definitely returning.

Looks great in my home coffee station. Love the wood accent and would purchase again.

Immediately started chipping the wood with normal use. The rubber is too receded

Second item from Normcore that I need to return due to poor quality control... The first one was their manual grinder that was DOA and got a full refund for it. Now, I need to return this tamping station as it doesn't lay flat, regardless of the surface I put it on. The under side warped and there's a gap of about 1/8 of an inch under 1 of the rubber legs. This causes the whole station to wobble, every time I prepare a shot. For the price you pay and the premium that comes with the name, I'd assume a better quality control... EDIT: Removing a star as the second unit I received was not only not leveled (also wobbling regardless of the surface I put it on), but the rubber inserts for the 2 tool holders were too big for the enclosure and the 54mm is really unstable, even with the right rubber inserts in place (using the breville original porter filter with the dual spouts). This is, again, a quality control issue. While I'm not expecting it, no one reached out to me so far.

Beautiful little espresso station. The rectangular design makes it more space-efficient for compact work spaces. Nice quality wood and the rubber components are easily removable and easy to clean.

Beautiful finish and holds all the tools you need. Two screen slots might be a bit overkill - hence only 4 stars
