Vox amPlug 3 Modern Bass Headphone Bass Amplifier w/ 2 Channels, Stereo Effects, Built-in Rhythms, and Aux in Jack

For the most part works as expected. I bought both the modern bass V3 and Boutique v3. And both have this issue when played high volume/tone/gain. The device will shut off. Changed to new batteries and did factory resets. And still have the same issue. Being able to use the device at half its volume/tone/gain makes me knock off 2 stars. Might just be a v3 issue not sure. UPDATE! tighten the output jacks ( where you plug in ) And issue is resolved! Fixed both my bass and my electric guitar issue with the vox modern bass and Boutique! 5 stars!

This is a nice accessory for playing without considering your amp. But there are two things that bother me: - The plastic encasing feels cheap, something easy to break - The tap button is too confusing. You read the guide, press the button N times and yet you feel it works randomly.

I really wanted to love this device, but I ended up returning it. The black switched with black lettering on black background made it next to impossible to tell what settings I was changing. The real deal-breaker though was the hum/buzz - any time this was plugged in to my bass there was an electric hum that was quite irritating and ruined the sound. Since I was only going to use it while at home rather than on travel, the convenience and effects weren't nearly enough to make me want to use this - I'm going back to using headphones plugged in to my amp.

Other customers should know that the function for the bass effects and the drum loops share the same button. Thats the ONLY reason I rate it 4/5. 5 star sound and quality. Buy it.

Sounds pretty good. Uses AAA batteries. Other improvements could be outlined text, controls moved to the other side. Uses a 3.5mm output jack. You'll need a male 3.5mm-to-1/4" female plug adapter to use this with a true bass amp. You can plug standard computer speakers (powered) or 3.5mm headphones into it and use it that way. There are better options out there.

Like other Vox amPlugs, this Bass edition is superb. I already owned the Boutique guitar edition and was in two minds whether to buy this one for my bass guitar. I'm glad I did, as although the unit is in many ways very similar, sound-wise, this focuses on the low and mid frequencies, providing a very authentic dedicated bass amp sound. Build quality is relatively poor - these things feel cheap. That said, given 2026 prices, these are cheap and provide massive bang-for-the-buck. The rhythm backings are limited but really useful for practice, improving timing no end. Like the guitar models, this one offers effects such as chorus and delay, but personally, for bass, I would have much preferred some kind of looper or alternative amp sim option.

Für Musiker ist das eine coole Sache. Einfach zu handhaben. Viel Effekte und Funktionalität für wenig Geld. Kompakt und mit den eingebauten Drum Pattern toll zum Üben. Am besten finde ich, dass man es mit Output für PA oder für Kopfhörer im Stillen nutzen kann. Ich habe es direkt mit einem Piezzo für mein selbst gebautes elektrisches Cello genutzt. Das klappt gut mit der Version für EBass.
