Roll over image to zoom in ASUS Vivobook M1605YA 16.0" WUXGA Laptop
I bought this Laptop to replace my ageing Lenovo, which served me well for the last eight years. This Asus laptop far exceeds my expectations. For a start I love the 16 inch screen and back lit keyboard which can be turned off or various brightness levels by using the F7 key. My Asus has the Ryzen 7 processor, which is really fast and more than enough for my needs. I also have a 1 terabyte ssd which will be more than enough storage for me as it’s the same as size as my old Lenovo. All in all for just over 500 quid you would struggle to find a laptop any better. It also ships with 16 Gb of Ram. Highly recommended. EDIT: I have been using this Asus Laptop since 2024 and it does everything I need it to. It is used daily and has never let me down. It was a great buy for me.

Amazing laptop - versatile uses
I've had this laptop for around ~9 months now. What I really like is the range of uses -- I've used this for gaming, internet browsing, messaging, video editing and it's handled everything great. While to me it's not the most aesthetically pleasing laptop in the world with just being a grey square, it certainly doesn't look bad but I might've considered getting a different colour. The portability is decent, but it's not exactly light by any means, it's not uncomfortable to carry. It's battery life widley depends, but I've managed to do some internet browsing and document editing on the go on a full charge for ~4-5 hours. It does get quite warm when doing tasks like gaming - however. Your lap does get quite warm and when gaming it is prone to randomly shutting off if you're pushing it beyond its limits but as long as it's in a sensible place and it is 99% of the time fine. Overall I bagged this for £500 which was an absolute steal but with it now being £600, it might be worth looking around the market a bit more.

Solidly satisfied
The 16 inch screen is great for my laptop for multiple windows needed for my technical mutitasking. Windows 11 is good, comes with windows subsystem for Linux which I needed for my engineering/development projects. AMD Ryzen 7 works well and smooth so far, was able to get AI applications running well on AMD Radeon GPU well. Battery life seems good so far despite the reviews on it but as long as you've got your laptop charger with you and socket it's not really an issue to be honest. Comes with USB c backup charging which I like and has two USB ports which is good. Solid choice for coding/engineering work

Very good value
This laptop arrived very promptly from Amazon and was easy to set up. Once that was done it starts very promptly and completes tasks quickly and efficiently. This was my first experience of Windows 11 and that was also a very smooth transition (once I had located the Power Off button in the middle of the screen and not bottom left as on Windows 10). All in all I have very positive first impressions and am very optimistic it will do all the Teams, Zoom, Word, Excel and Adobe work I need very adequately.

A fast processor, low power draw and clear screen Laptop at a reasonable price
The machine is certainly very fast as I have it set up (without an MS account and the removal of most of the pre-installed bloatware which makes any PC sluggish due to the over-reliance on a fast internet connection which is not always available and use of wasteful use of the RAM. The internal SSD storage is fast and more than adequate with 1Tb capacity and the backup to an external drive takes very little time using the USB-C port. While some users will like the illuminated keyboard, I found the keyboard illumination made seeing the key labels difficult as I am not a touch typist - it can be turned off using F7, so not a major probleem. The monitor is clear and responsive even when working in extended screen mode with a projector, and although I do not use the fold-flat capability, others may find it useful. The battery life is up to six hours and Wi-Fi connection fast. It is also almost completely silent in operation. The only two slight niggles are the lack of an ethernet port and the fact that there are only two USB3 ports and one USB-C which means I have to carry a USB-C adaptor to increase the number of USB-C and USB3 ports, plus a USB3 to RJ45 ethernet adaptor. While these are not expensive it would help to have four USB3 and two USB-C ports included as standard. (I use the USB2 port for a wireless mouse dongle.) To summarise the laptop is a good fast machine for general use, giving PowerPoint presentations, editing sound recordings and video. I cannot comment on game playing as that is not something I use it for!

BEWARE! Packed up after 6 months light use, same as many others found!
Lovely laptop until it stopped working after 6 months very occasional use. Just a blue screen with date and time, it won’t bring up the log in so we can’t use it. Wish I’d read the other one star reviews before buying, many people having the same issue. I’ve had multiple laptops and never had this happen! And it’s not exactly cheap either! Disgraceful! Sending it back to be repaired but not holding my breath as someone else who did the same has still heard nothing after 30 days. Might as well have just thrown away £500 which is completely unacceptable!
