The North American TBF Avenger was an American carrier-based torpedo bomber used primarily during World War II. Designed by Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation, the TBF Avenger was a key element of American naval aviation during the fighting in the Pacific theater. Entering service in 1942, the aircraft was used to attack surface targets, especially enemy ships. Its three-person crew consisted of a pilot, gunner and operator. The TBF Avenger was armed with a machine gun and could carry torpedoes, bombs and rockets. Its participation in the Battle of Midway in 1942 was crucial to the success of American naval aviation. After the end of World War II, the TBF Avenger was gradually replaced by newer designs but remained in use until the 1960s. This plane gained considerable fame as a reliable combat machine, able to survive even heavy damage and return to the aircraft carrier safely! Review: A new favorite! - This is my 7th Cobi set and I am just as delighted by the final result as I have been with the other builds. I own four Cobi airplane sets: Corsair, P-51 Mustang, Hellcat, and now the Avenger! The colors are beautiful, it is pad printed (so no stickers), and it snaps together beautifully. The hardest part - as mentioned before in other reviews - the assembly manual. There are two big bags (follow the order to open) just construct one at a time and FOLLOW the instructions. As with all my Cobi sets: no missing parts! Otherwise you’ll love this added addition! Review: These are cool, my son loves them - My son loves WW2 planes and Star Wars. He now has several of the COBI WW2 planes and they really look great on his shelf. All parts have been there, easy to put together, and no issues with parts fitting, well made. Apparently, the Star Wars craft and the WW2 fighters battle it out sometimes! ## Features - 392 high-quality elements - Scale 1:48 assembled model dimensions (L x W x H): 9.84 x 13.19 x 4.33 inches [250mm x 335mm x 110mm] - Includes pilot figure - Clear and intuitive instructions based on illustrations and step-by-step directions - Fully compatible with other brands of construction blocks ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0CM97GDY3 | | Additional Features | Non-Toxic | | Age Range (Description) | Kid | | Age Range Description | Kid | | Art Craft Kit Type | aircraft model kit | | Best Sellers Rank | #136,336 in Toys & Games ( See Top 100 in Toys & Games ) #4,213 in Toy Building Sets | | Brand | COBI | | Brand Name | COBI | | Color | Multicoloured | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 105 Reviews | | Included Components | Instruction Guide | | Item Dimensions | 9.84 x 13.19 x 4.33 inches | | Item Type Name | Building Kit | | Item Weight | 0.35 kg | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 9.84 x 13.19 x 4.33 inches | | Manufacturer | COBI | | Manufacturer Part Number | COBI-5752 | | Material | Plastic | | Material Type | Plastic | | Model Name | Historical Collection WWII Grumman TBF Avenger Aircraft | | Model Number | 5752 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Number of Pieces | 392 | | Paint Type | Printing Ink | | Product Style | Modern | | Scale | 1:48 | | Seasons | All Seasons | | Set Name | Historical Collection WWII Grumman TBF Avenger Aircraft | | Size | Small | | Subject Character | Grumman TBF Avenger | | Theme | Military | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Age Range (Description):** Kid - **Brand:** COBI - **Color:** Multicoloured - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 9.84 x 13.19 x 4.33 inches - **Theme:** Military ## Images ![COBI Historical Collection WWII Grumman TBF Avenger Aircraft - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61YIjAXMIjL.jpg) ![COBI Historical Collection WWII Grumman TBF Avenger Aircraft - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/716LBLAfMLL.jpg) ![COBI Historical Collection WWII Grumman TBF Avenger Aircraft - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51AGwoBMU1L.jpg) ![COBI Historical Collection WWII Grumman TBF Avenger Aircraft - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51iN46ba-WL.jpg) ![COBI Historical Collection WWII Grumman TBF Avenger Aircraft - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/513T++s4sRL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A new favorite! *by J***H on August 4, 2026* This is my 7th Cobi set and I am just as delighted by the final result as I have been with the other builds.
