Nice Shoe, but check your size before ordering
I only wear closed toe shoes when required by law, or when I am exercising (it's been a few year). So, when I do by tennis shoes, I opt for the better ones that will last. I was a faithful Nike girl until about 10 years ago when I tried my 1st pair of New Balance. I waited tables at the time, and those shoes where perfect for being on my feet all day. So now that it was time for a new pair of sneakers to begin my new walking regimen, I went straight to New Balance.I chose the 1012 for several reasons: 1) the mostly mesh material lets my hot feet breath, 2) they were recommended for us overweight folk due to the support and impact on our joints, & 3) I really like the not so flashy style. They arrived on time and I was too happy to open. I slipped them on my feet but alas, they're about 1/2 size too small. :( Now, I did not try this style on in store before I purchased online, and usually do take a 1/2 size bigger in New Balance, but due to other reviews, I opted for my regular size. My mistake. I will say, that I am borderline wide with too, but ordered medium width based on other reviews. The width was just fine, but the length was not. So, if your are new to New Balance, try them on in the store first to match your size, or opt for 1/2 size bigger. I would also not recommend wide-width unless you really need it.The only real complaint I have is Amazon would not allow an exchange although I purchased from Amazon, they were not a gift, and the are apparel. Don't know what was up with that, so I purchased the 1/2 size bigger, and will return the first pair.All-in-all I think these shoes will be very comfortable; toe area is nice and roomy, great arch support, and I love the breathable mesh. Once I get my right size and able to wear on my walks, I'll update with more info.UPDATESo, Amazing Amazon sent me a return label with my correct size shoe. Thanks. Anyway, now that I have to correct size, I LOVE MY NEW SHOES! I've been walking 10k a day, and so far so good. Great support, my feet don't hurt, plenty of room in the toe bed, and the mesh is awesome. I actually felt a breeze blowing through the shoe. It was very welcome in 90 degree heat. Overall, I recommend and added another star from my prior review.

Excellent shoes (and I usually hate New Balance!)
I have all sorts of feet issues (i.e. plantars fasciatis, heel spurs, collapsed arch, etc., etc.) and I have the worst trouble finding the right shoe. One that provides support, stability, no rubbing, and comfort while running. I am surprised to say, these fit all of those needed qualities. I am able to run 4 miles a day with all of the above issues in these shoes and I feel NO pain (or 20 miles a week). No rubbing at all, great arch support, just enough cushioning, extra room in the toe box, and very well made. I was hesitant because I have not had luck with New Balance in the past, but this particular model is excellent. This is the first shoe that after running 4+ miles in them for the very first time, I didn't have one single blister. It's as if they were already broken in. Very pleased. If you are looking for a great running shoe and tired of all the issues like I mentioned above, I would highly suggest you try these shoes out. They are well worth the money. Amazon sells them the cheapest, hands down. I have a friend who purchased the same shoe (older model) for almost double what Amazon is asking.

Good stability shoes for overpronators
I am a severe overpronator and used to wear the Underarmour overpronator running shoes. I really liked them but they were worn out. So I tried these NB thinking they would feel the same as the UA. I was a little surprised with the NB as they at first felt a clunky and heavy. However, it takes about 2 weeks of patient wearing to fully gain the benefits of a stability shoe like this. I am now used to them. When I run I don't feel the pain on my knees anymore. They are very comfortable for daily wear as well. I must say that the only negative is that they don't have what UA has - the "glove" inside the shoe - which gives you a feeling that the shoe is like "hugging" the foot, very very nice comfy touch. Nevertheless, these NB are solid running shoes for active overpronators.

New Balance Running Shoes
I really like these shoes. I have a very wide foot and these shoes are great for wide feet. They are comfortable, due to recent bunion surgery, I have added an insole which makes them even more comfortable. They are nice looking shoes, and they are made well so I'm sure I'll be able to wearthem for a long time.

Wish I'd known better how to size these
I was relieved to see these and read several reviews before buying. My first pair of these arrived quickly however I soon found they were too large. I underestimated the size of my foot and should have gone a full size smaller since these are quite wide and true to the description. The width is fabulous, I just wish I had known better that they would fit me larger than regular sized shoes. I sent them back prepared to just get a refund however the company contacted me right away and gave me a choice of exchanging for another size; which I agreed to. I wish I had not had to pay extra for shipping them back but in the end they did turn out to be very comfortable sneakers for what I needed. I play tennis in these and use them quite a bit for hikes and walking in the park. Once I got the size down, they have been great. The strong shoe laces are great quality as well. I have lots of shock absorbed in these, especially when I play tennis and strike a lot of times with the front of my foot onto paved court. They turned out to be a great buy even with the $ extra to ship back for the exchange of size- I am very happy with the quality of these shoes; just wish I'd known more about the sizing.
