Sports Research® Ashwagandha w/Coconut MCT Oil, 120 Softgels

I've had this for a while now and it being my first supplement of ashwagandha, I was skeptical and did a lot of research on which one to buy. I landed on this one and have loved it since, it definitely helps relax at night to sleep, not a big pill either. I have noticed a change in focus throughout the day as well after as little as a week, easy to take since I usually take like half an hour or less before head to bed because at least for me it kicks in quickly. Worth the money too since it's a reputable brand and I haven't had any negative effects like I have read about other people under different brands.

Hello! I’d like to share my experience with this product. I absolutely love this brand — all of my supplements are from Sports Research. I use several of their products: Creatine, Omega-3, D3-K2, Astaxanthin, Magnesium, Zinc, and Collagen. Every single one has been top-quality, and this Ashwagandha is no exception in terms of purity and formulation. That said, I’d like to talk about how it personally affected me. I’m a very hyperactive person — my mind works fast and tends to overthink everything. I’ve tried various Ashwagandha formulas over the years, but this one, with a high 35% withanolide concentration, didn’t sit well with my system. The first time I took it, I used it daily in the mornings after breakfast for two weeks. I began to feel increased anxiety, excessive overthinking, and even mild paranoia when focusing on negative thoughts. I stopped taking it, and those sensations faded by the second day. Just a few days ago, I decided to give it another try and took it again for a full week — unfortunately, the exact same reaction occurred, confirming that this particular concentration doesn’t work for me. Of course, not all bodies and minds react the same way. What happened to me doesn't mean this is a bad product — in fact, I believe the opposite: it’s a strong, high-quality extract. It just wasn’t the right match for me personally. I’ve gone back to a more traditional Ashwagandha formula and feel much better. It helps me slow down my mind, which is what I was aiming for, and when I pair it with PharmaGABA, I sleep really well. I hope my experience helps someone out there!

Really works after the second week

Sports Research never disappoints with their ingredients. I love that these use Shoden ashwagandha and are formulated with healthy MCT oil instead of cheap filler oils. The liquid softgels are smooth, have no weird aftertaste, and don't upset my stomach at all. 5 stars all the way!

Wasn't able to use it more than a day or so because even taking one pill first thing in the morning causes insomnia. However, one doesn't feel too tired even after not sleeping when taking this so it does give you energy. Probably works fine for many without this side effect per the studies and user feedback. Quality I am sure is fine from this company and already has MCT oil to help with absorption. Good idea to keep an eye on liver and thyroid labs if you take this for a while.

If you feel thirty years older than you should because of stress, buy it!!! No taste, no side effects that I have noticed after a month of taking it, small pill size and easy to access container. Bear in mind that this version uses the strongest ashwagandha extract. If it were too much for you, Sports Research offers another version with one of the milder extracts —you will recognise it because of the name of the extract and because it is labelled “organic”.
