Aquascape Spillway Bowl Fountain, 19 inch Dia (49 cm), 78355

This is a well made fountain.

I love this fountain bowl! The color is what I’d hoped for. My preformed pond is about 175 gallons for reference. I am using the Poposoap pond filter with pump fountain kit 660 GPH 40w. The tube that comes with the aquascape bowl it is a relatively short piece of 3/4 tubing. I didn’t want such a big tube coming over the lip of my pond so connected it to a 1/2 tube that I already had using a 3/4 to 1/2 coupling barb I found on amazon (aqua plumb spears 1429 series pvc 3/4 x 1/2 barb). I will mention that I had a problem with the water wicking back on the lip of bowl causing water loss. This seemed to happen no matter how much I tilted the bowl forward. I used a hot glue gun to run a bead across the underside of the lip which seems to work well so far. It didn’t take much and you can’t see it when looking at the bowl.

Absolutely love it! I hesitated because of the price but so glad I got it. It has an opening to add a light, it would have been nice if it came with a light.

I got this to use as a basin for my rain chain which doubles as a bird bath. I was very impressed with the quality and the color is beautiful!

If you are using this as a spillway bowl/big filter without their reservoir, be advised the rounded and horizontal nature of the spout lip allows for surface tension to be created and the water will sheet back down the outside of the bowl when pouring out. I woke up to a drained pond and, like another review posted, I’m having to silicone a piece of plastic under the spout to prevent this issue. For as much as this costs, they should fix this issue because you can only tip this bowl forward so much before you risk it falling over into your pond.
