Long-lasting quality orchid potting medium.
Orchiata has become my go-to medium for orchid repotting. I use it either by itself for cattleyas or mixed with New Zealand sphagnum for plants requiring a little extra moisture, such as phalaenopsis or paphiopedilums. It simply does not degrade the way normal untreated bark can, so it lasts longer before repotting is required. It's particularly good for those plants that need air circulation around the roots. I primarily use Medium (#5) and Classic (small #9), but there are larger sizes available like #5A and 7, so very versatile. It doesn't have the level of dust that some barks can have. I use it right out of the bag without having to wash it first. I've been using it for more than 7 years now, and find that plants are healthy. Even though it does not get mushy and break down, I repot at least once every two years, which seems to keep everyone happy

Top quality bark for many orchids.. please note; they have several size grades available. The 6-8 mm. grade is fine for orchids such as: cattleya or repotting cymbidiums.. I do use other amendments in my mixes. I.e. sponge rock, sphagnum moss, LECA depending on conditions.

Best medium
I have been growing orchids for years and have found this to be top notch bark. I wouldn't use anything else for my plants
