Easy Setup
Really easy to put up, even just one person can do it. I had it up on the beach on a very windy day and it did fall over but it was easy to get it back up again. Looks great and protects everyone from the searing Florida sun. It is very compact and portable. Great product.

Love It!
This was very easy to set up. It took my husband maybe 5–10 minutes to do it by himself. I had seen a lot of negative reviews about it falling over in even the slightest breeze, so I was a little nervous going into it, but we did not have that experience at all. The sandbags were filled very full and extended tightly into a large X shape as the instructions recommend before inserting the poles. Once set up, it held up perfectly during the 5 hours we spent at the beach. The wind averaged around 9 mph, with some stronger gusts, and the shade stayed secure the entire time. We are considering buying the two additional poles because, while it worked well with just the two included poles, having the option for more space underneath would be a nice upgrade. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. After reading so many negative reviews, I was prepared for this to be a disappointing purchase, but it has been well worth it so far, and we also love how much lighter it is compared to our old pop-up!

Beach Ready in 5min!
Purchased the Grande. Giving 4 out of 5 and will follow up when we have used it for a few months. We live on a beach and portability and set-up is great! I have seen several reviews about wind-let me tell you....I set up into a steady 20-25mph wind (with gusts) and have been pleasantly sitting here in the shade watching others bake 🤣 for HOURS! Reviews saying it doesn't work is user error. Now if the company will gladly take my review and send me the bigger one as a statement that it is indeed is amazing.... I'll take it and review it. Set this up with my 11 year old and took 5 min!

Please read my review!
Picture shows our tent collapsed for the incoming rain shower. Ok. Forget all other reviews. Read mine. Me and the family went on vacation to Florida. We thought this “tent” would be our best option. We couldn’t have been more right! Two Adults and two teens practically lived under this while we spent our week on the beach. It worked perfectly! I will share some tips and tricks we used while we were on the beach. 1. The whole setup takes literally 2 minutes to setup. It doesn’t have sandbags that you fill up. It has a piece of flat fabric that are able to be cinched into a sack. So you lay the fabric out, lay a bunch of sand on top of it, and then just cinch the sack up around the sand. It really takes like 10 seconds to do each bag. The awesome part is when you untie the bag and dump the sand out, you can shake the fabric and get all the sand off of it before packing it up. 2. Our stay at the beach was interrupted several times by little showers that came through the area. Instead of taking the Neso with us when we left we decided to leave it there on the beach. We took our chairs and collapsed them down and put them under the Neso keeping everything flat as possible. We took the poles down and stretched out the sandbags. The storms came through, our Neso stayed right there on the beach, and all we had to do was put the poles back up when we got back out to the beach. I will say this.... ITS NOT WATERPROOF! Don’t leave valuables under it thinking they will stay dry. You shouldn’t leave valuables on the beach anyway. 3. When it gets wet, it will sag a little. It drys out quick and gets back to its normal height. 4. Wind.... this is what most people on the beach were asking me about (Yes you will get asked questions when people see it. A guy next to us that watched us set it up was so impressed, he ordered one at that moment). It will stand up to average wind at any angle. It will stand out to a little above average wind if you don’t mind it hitting you in the head every once in a while. If the winds get rough, we found that you can take the poles down and put them up where the “opening” is facing the wind. This will allow it to stand up to higher winds. We did take it down one time due to multi direction winds coming through the beach and hotels. It can’t really take swirled winds. I highly recommend this product! It’s light weight and very portable. You won’t be disappointed! Ours did come with a loose thread on the seam of the tent. It’s not a big deal if yours comes like that. Snip the string and dab some clear fingernail polish on the loose seam. Done!

This Tent is a GIMMICK
This product is a Gimmick!!! Please don't waste your money on this tent. I Should have read deeper into the negative reviews but impulse got me again! This tent does not function in any environment.. at all! First initial thoughts was the fabric was nice and well packaged although the 9x9 tent felt heavier than expected. I attempted to set this tent up for about 15 mins and when I finally got it stable the wind blew it over with the slightest gust. I think the idea of this tent is good but the final outcome is very under whelming. One other issue that was not considered is the amount of area this thing needs to occupy. although the shade is 9 feet by 9 which already is pretty big, the bag anchors need an additional 3-4 feet from each corner, approx 13' by 13' when set up. It takes the area larger then most bedrooms. If a person trips over a line now you're dealing with sheet suffocation and who knows how much more time to reset up, if you even get through the first set up. Don't waste your money, Buy what is already being used on the beach and is proven.

Where Have You Been All My Life? Light, Compact, Durable in High Winds, Bright & Visible
We try to spend as much time as possible when we get to go to the beach. Using the Neso Tent, we had great sun protection and a cool place to sit for over 6 hours, with more shade than three umbrellas combined for the Neso 1 Tent and more shade than 5 umbrellas with the Neso Grande (we ordered two tents for our large family) - with a lot less hassle to set up. Through use over two of the windiest days, the tent withstood strong gusts of wind while other umbrellas were flying down the beach. I wish I found this years ago!! I had people coming up to me asking where I got it all weekend. I would suggest ordering the Neso Grande as it is only a little more expensive and you get a lot more room. They come in lots of bright colors, so my kids always knew where to find our stuff and people meeting up with us could find us easily as well. Set Up - It only took a minute to set up and was easy enough for my kids to put together. The shelter and sandbags are made with quality materials that look like they will hold up over time. The corners of the tent are reinforced with heavier material so that they are stronger and will not tear, which I did not see on any of Neso competitors. The poles have foam balls at the ends that hold up the tent so that they do not tear through the material. After taking down the tent, the poles did not leave a mark in the material, even though it was pulled taut for hours. Usability - The tent comes with a dual-pocket carrying bag that is made with strong material with a strap to put over your shoulder. One pocket contains your tent connected to the sandbags, the other pocket contains the two poles. The entire tent breaks down to fit into a bag that is about the same size or smaller than a school bag and weighs less than 5 lbs. It is so much easier than an umbrella, I wish I found this years ago and stopped having to mess with angling the umbrella to get the most shade and chasing the umbrella when there is a gust of wind. Customer Service - I ordered two tents and they both arrived in two days. There are a bunch of videos on their site on how to set up your tent, how to reinforce the sandbags in high winds and how to angle the poles to withstand the highest of winds. Even with all that content on their site, I also received two emails asking how if I was happy with my purchase with instructions on how to get the most use out of my tent and if I had any questions - directing me to call the seller's company line. My family is really happy with our purchase and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who likes to spend time outdoors. Side note- while we use ours at the beach, I've had friends say they use it to go camping and instead of filling the bags with sand, they fill the bags with whatever they have available - clothes, rocks, wood etc.

Review from a textiles engineer
A bit of background: I'm the senior engineer at a shade sail/ architectural fabric manufacturing company. When you google "architectural fabric" - that's the stuff I design every day. I was sick of bad umbrellas and those tacky department store canopies at the beach and this seems to be a decent solution. First off- this is the size you want. The smaller neso shelters are too small. The smaller size claims 2 or even 3 people but let's be real... two will fit if you don't extend your legs and only if the sun is directly overhead. This size (grande) works perfectly and should be the "standard" size. The grande is tall enough for me to stand under in almost all wind conditions (I'm 5'8" tall). I'd say you can comfortably fit 4 people an chairs under this shade. Maybe 6 people if you really like each other. The bigger size means if flaps a bit more in the wind, but with this style of sun shade you're pretty much always going to have flapping in wind (even with smaller shades). I've never had a problem with sandbags dragging or moving and the poles do a decent job of staying where they are supposed to. If you experiment with pole positioning this shade can withstand some decent wind. Here are some tips: -fill the bags with sand and position them with the fabric slightly stretching before installing the poles -always have the poles/high side facing into the wind -placing the poles closer the center of the high side will eliminate some flapping in higher wind. I usually place them right on the edge of the high side but about 1/4 of the way towards the center of that edge Now the cons: -coming from a commercial sewing and fabrication shop, I have to admit that the edge stitching is really awful. The seam is decently done though. -the reinforcements are pretty bad and could be designed in a way that distributes the tension more evenly. They used the wrong type of grommets and the wrong reinforcement material. Grommets will begin pulling out after the first use, although it does not render the shade unusable. I guess this is what happens when you get a mass produced consumer product at this price point. I would recommend that the manufacturer ditches the grommets and instead uses nylon webbing to form a loop, possibly sandwiched between two layers of curved reinforcing material. -the plastic feet on the poles are thin and will crack, but it probably isn't worth changing if it would add to the cost -the cooler pocket is gimmicky and unnecessary- get rid of it and improve the corners with the saved cost Over all a great design for beach shade! Get one before they run out again!

Good, but... with some issues
I used my NESO Grande on a beach in Florida over the weekend for the first time and these are my initial thought. 1) It takes a little trial and error to get the tension and sand weight right, the more sand the better it turns out and really bury the bags in the sand as deep as possible. 2) I got extra poles to make it more like a pop-up, but ended up just using 2 poles by the end of the day, which seemed better with the wind. 3) I thought the 9x9 wasn't going to be a big enough footprint, NO this thing is huge, especially seeing it set up next to conventional pop-ups. And 4) unfortunately this material is not waterproof, and not marketed ae such, But I would not even say its water repellant, which it is marketed as. We got some decent rain for about 45 minutes, and water went right through the tent in a spray, soaked everything and everyone. Not a deal breaker but for the price I was hoping for it to be somewhat water resistant so if you buy this expecting any kind of rain resistance you will be greatly disappointed. All in all, I love that its compact and pretty easy to set up.
