We have access to a conference room / gym but it's always got the carpet down. These booties make it easy to practice. My wife wears them over her character shoes even. They hold up fine . . . and we use them several times per week. Our first pair is still in good shape but showing a few signs of wear so we ordered the second as back up. We've only used them on short-cropped carpet so we can't speak to anything but that but I think they would work well on deeper piles also.
