This product is a great idea. It is the concept of "transformer" CNC machine. As it is it needs a lot of improvements. It seems more like a toy and it does not have the precision required to build small part in metal or wood. The tolerances of the pieces as I tried to assemble immediately tell you that this is not a precision machine. It has too many unreliable plastic pieces. The assembly manual is very confusing and it took me hours to figure out the initial steps. I just gave up.

This product has several issues one it is not CNC the thing is not meant as anything but a teaching tool and is mostly constructed of plastic. I gave it two stars because in spite of the flaws I will still be able to use it for several small jobs that don't require precision. It is a clever idea and one made of better material and a little bigger motor could really work well. Seller should consult dictionary for CNC. computer numerical control.

I purchased this kit as I needed the capabilities of a small metalworking lathe and I didn't want to spend any more than necessary. As others have noted, the assembly instructions are a little challenging, but with the sketches and photos it isn't too hard to figure things out. The one area where I have an issue is the tool holder, which is nowhere near sturdy enough. I developed my own version using unused components and was able to get my particular job done, but will be shopping for a more robust lathe in the near future.

I really like this product. It is very ingenious. First the negative, obviously, this is not a CNC anything and they really need to remove that from the title. Second, the directions are in Chinese and the picture quality is not the best. There are some "how to" directions on the internet under a different product name. Now for the positive. This is the perfect tool for the tinkerer. The tolerance are not super tight, but it will get the job done. The motor seem powerful enough to do most basic jobs if you are patient. The versatility for the price is second to none and I am glad I purchased this. Bottom line, if you need a high torque, tight tolerance machine, this is NOT for you and you will need to spend several hundred more on a single tool. If you need something small, tons of options, and plan on doing light duty work, this may fit you perfectly.

This is a neat little machine that is strictly for modeling purposes only. Trimming and sanding small parts is a breeze and turning small aluminum pieces is very easy.

Works well but can only be used in light duty applications, and where only loose tolerances are required. It is a good machine for building models, and small devices.
