Battery Shunt 300, Smart Remote Battery Monitoring Via APP

this thing is fantastic. I have had it for 2 years on my RV and we just got back from a 6,500 mile trip out west boondocking and running off of battery and solar. I have an all Renogy setup and this thing is bullet proof. The support them there is amazing. Friendly and knowledgeable every time I have called.

This product simply does not work the way it is marketed. We installed the shunt exactly how it was instructed to and it would not pair to the Renogy One Core (another POS product). After multiple attempts it paired but would not give you any charge data. Only discharge data. The other issue is that the historic data it does give you is lifetime only so in order to get a days worth of data you have to clear the historical data at the beginning of the day and then look at it EOD in order to see your data. Victron has a shunt that tracks all of the historical data just fine and it half the price. I have no affiliation with them im just fed up with Renogy. This type of data tracking is super common these days with most brands yet Renogy still cant figure out how to do it reliably. The other issue is the low SOC alarm would not turn not stop beeping. We got the system to 100% on all batteries and 100% SOC, hit "sync to 100%" and it would give me error 7 over and over telling me to remove it from the system and start over. We did this 3x to no avail. I read up some forums and supposedly its a very common firmware issue that they havent resolved. Lol its just sad honestly. I tried everything that they suggest and it doesnt work so yeah im sending these back and will slowly start removing renogy from my systems and moving to something reliable and a support team that speak english. If you have the option to start building your solar system with another brand I would highly highly suggest it. Im in deep already with Renogy and regret it a lot. pay a little more, get what actually works and save yourself the headache.

What a pain to install. To access terminal strip to put in aux+ cable, you have to pry up a fairly secure cover. Then you have to mess around with loosening a terminal screw that requires a flat screwdriver suitable for eyeglasses Then you have to mess with wire placement as even pushing in up to the insulation (sliver of silver viewable) it still comes out with vibration. I bought this because it claims historical data, but doesn't display anything but cumulative. Except you can't export the data. At least not without a Renogy One, but no idea if that will work as I dont have one. *ANYTIME* the shunt is disconnected, whether loss of power or phone too far away, you have to add the device again in app. Every. Single. Time. I just wanted to measure and log charge / discharge currents of 2 batteries on my pickup. It appears this won't do it. Bought 2, Returning 2, 1 unused / opened.

Works good. The only thing I wish is that there was a little more room on the lugs so if you have multiple devices hooked to the output you didn't have to leave the cover off. But other than that it works as advertised.

Sync issues with the Battery. Never show the actual battery status of charge or Discharge. Probably will return this Unit and replace for another brand.

I’m in the process of switching my battery system in my travel van from lead acid to lithium with solar charging. I’m very happy with this hardware, it functions very well. It was super easy to install though the unit is kind of large compared to the bt module used for the solar charge controller. My one complaint is that the app that Renogy has to use it is not great. It does not seem to continuously monitor instead, you have to connect to the shunt every time you want to check consumption or charging. I’ll be adding the solar charge controller bt module and will be interested to find out if it has more of a continuous function within the app or if is a strictly one log in one reading function like this.

Just got it hooked up and running.....so far, do good....gives a good readout of charging time, amperage and then draw on the battery.
