SKOUT'S HONOR Fresher Breath Water Additive for Dogs and Cats, 32 oz

This is working well for my dogs. I have a chihuahua who has most of his teeth removed, and can no longer have any dental chews. My dogs have no problem with the scent and haven't had any issues with drinking it. As an extra added bonus this additive remove the hard water rings on the water bowl!! You know it can help with the tartar on your dog's teeth.

I’ve been pretty happy with SKOUT'S HONOR Fresher Breath Water so far. I decided to try it because I saw that it was listed as one of the VOHC-approved products, and I wanted something to help with my dog’s bad breath and overall dental care. Before this, I was using another brand, but I didn’t like that it kept causing a reddish buildup in my dog’s water jug and bowl. Since switching to this one, I haven’t noticed anything like that when I clean and refill her bowl and bottle, which has been a big plus for me. Another good thing is that my dog didn’t seem to have any issue with the switch. She drank it without hesitation, which made the change easy. Overall, it seems like a good product if you’re looking for something to help with breath and dental care without the messy residue I experienced with another brand.

Skout’s Honor water additive actually works! Our GSD had calcium buildup on his teeth and terrible bad breath. This helped reduce the buildup and takes away the bad breath! He loves giving kisses and now we can actually love to receive them lol!

My water is hard even after filtering, and this additive reduces calcium deposit stains on stainless steel bowls. My dogs also seem to like the taste of the additive. I brush their teeth myself so I don’t rely on this product to solely keep their dental health in order, but I pick up a bottle from time to time to add to the fountain.

Found this at a pet store awhile back and tried a smaller size to see how we (and our dog) felt about it. Our dog doesn't seem to notice it being added into her water and it does really help with fresher breather and tartar control so we went for this buy as the longer term try. I wouldn't say it removes all of the tartar, but with an occasional brushing with enzymatic toothpaste we have seen a reduction. Recommended.

No smell and easy to use. My dog drank the water with the water additive without hesitation. So I’m assuming there was no taste. I only used half the suggested amount as I wanted to make sure my dog would tolerate it. HOWEVER, within a few hours of drinking the water with the additive, she threw up her entire breakfast. So I immediately dumped the water either and additive, washed her bowl thoroughly and only have her filtered water. Sir still threw up 3 more times in the span of 10 hours! So that’s a total of 4 hours. My dog has never had a reaction to any water additives before so this was very alarming. I took her to the ER and brought the bottle off the water additive with me to show the vet. The vet told me it’s super common for these water additives to upset the dogs stomach lining and make them vomit and they told me to avoid water additives. Thankfully by the next day my dog was fine but had to be on a bland diet for 3-4 days to be gentle as her stomach lining had gotten disrupted by this water additive. This item is not worth it for us. Be careful!!!

A year ago, my dog had his teeth cleaned, and our vet recommended Skout's Honor Dental Water Additive. Since then, his teeth have remained remarkably clean. At his checkup today, the vet told us he could skip his annual dental cleaning because there was little to no tartar or plaque buildup. If your dog is like mine and hates having his teeth brushed, I highly recommend giving this product a try. One suggestion: start with a smaller dose and gradually work up to the recommended amount. Some dogs may experience diarrhea when first using it, so introducing it slowly can help avoid any stomach issues. The results speak for themselves. If my dog can skip a professional teeth cleaning after using this product for a year, I'd say it definitely works.

My vet recommended this product for our small breed dog. Last year, we were told by vet that dog’s teeth would need to be cleaned this year; we’ve been using this product during this period of time and now vet says teeth cleaning can wait another year. So glad I purchased.
