Easy socket upgrade that reduces LGA 1700 frame induced board deflection and improves cooling
I've been in Hi-tech mechanical & thermal design for decades with many a new CPU board in my design experiences. I've disliked the load the LGA socket frame design would put on a PCB since day 1 of that socket's intro and would try and augment our rather dense LGA based board designs around the CPU when I could. This inexpensive gem is an eye opener and I purchased one as soon as I saw it for a new build with a new MB with a new CPU after my venerable 5th Gen MB recently gave up it's ghost. It takes maybe 5-7 minutes to remove the LGA frame and install this along with your CPU. The bow in the PCB across the processor is nearly non-existent. I've also never seen a CPU run this cool using a forced air heat sink let alone this newer one at essentially double the TDP of its predecessor. Too many things changed on this new build to accurately determine what the full temperature drop contribution was. This new board included the use of a 6x6mm heat piped, single fin-stack heat sink and 15W/m-K thermal paste. My Core temp at idle is running a couple of degrees C above ambient and my local PCB temp is about 6C over that indicating a better transfer off the bottom of the chip & socket into the PCB. My guess is that when installed right with a really thin layer of a good thermal paste and clean/dry surfaces, its good for double digit improvement as others reviews have stated. My immediate reactions with this at first power up was literally, this temperature can't be right, but apparently it is.On an older 12th-13th-14th gen board with the bow at the CPU already "baked" in, your results probably won't be as good. Likewise, if you don't get rid of the little thread particles the typical cleaning pads leave behind prior to thermal paste application, you also won't see as much improvement as you could. For as little as this costs and for what it does, I highly recommend this as a standard feature for any build where Thermalright has a size match for your socket; currently AM4 & AM5, LGA 1700 and probably the 15th Gen 1851 socket (if not now, soon). 5 stars only because that's as high as you're allowed to go.

First pc must have!
Really easy to install when i was building my first pc.The build quality was nice and the fit was spot on. Due to the shape it offers better cooling and slightly better in-game performance then the stock mounting bracket.

Works great
Good product. This helped me reduce temps by a couple degrees and installation was really simple.

Should have bought them earlier
I built many PCs over the years. Only got to know this product because I watched a few YouTube videos who used them. Easy to install and looks great! I don't notice thermal differences, but the product does make PC build more enjoyable.

Works for Zhaoxin KX-7000 too!
If you are like me, and you let the intrusive thoughts win, then you too can install the Thermalright Contact Frame on a Zhaoxin KX-7000. Zhaoxin KX-7000's LGA 1700 socket is the same as Intel's. The contact frame looks awesome, and I'm a little sad it is covered by the heatsink.

Worked fine, helped ease hot spot
Its fine. Helping to ease hot spots to more uniform heat distribution. The intel 13900 i9 was the real issue at fault when I thought it was heat

Perfect solution to Intels bending issue.
Bending on the 1700 cpus is rare, but it does happen. It happened to my i5-12400. Turned it on one day and it would not boot. So after a few hours of reading on the web, found that bending could be the cause as I tested everything else.I removed the cpu, put under a book for a few hours and reinstalled it using this instead of the ILM on the MB and it booted right up. It has been working fine ever since. Best $7 I ever spent!
