This stuff is amazing goes a longgggg way

I reecently learned about this great product when updating an old dresser with vintage hardware that needed some help. As an absolute novice furniture refinisher, the ease of use and quality of the final look was perfect. Have used various metallic spray paint in the past to update furniture/cabinet hardware and this final look is much more striking and professional looking. To apply, only need to clean the hardware then take a soft cloth and gently rub the product on. That’s it! I’m not sure about the longevity and durability of it, I will update my review as time goes on and the dresser is used.

Rub and Buff is some of the best finishing touches to DIY/crafts. This is easy to use and a little does a lot. Layer in thin layers and once dried use a soft cloth and buff until you reach the sheen you want. Excellent purchase and worth every penny. Time to try other colors!

So glad my daughter told me about this. It has saved me so much money as far as updating picture frames, mirror frames, decor objects. When I redecorate, I usually have items that I still like a lot but the color tones no longer work. Spray paint doesn't do the trick, so cheap looking usually. This stuff literally rubs on, then buffs in. Do a second time if you want more color. Zero mess. I did a 3' x 5' mirror without even taking it off the wall and it looks beautiful. I love sort of a weathered or vintage finish so this is perfect.

I do chemical glass etching. When I want to add some color, I use this product. I put a dab on an old cotton sock, rub it into the etching, wait a minute, and then polish the glass to remove any excess Rub-N-Buff from outside the etching. If you don't wait long enough, the cream smears in the etching. After that happens it is hard to get an even coating. You have to wait for the Rub-N-Buff to completely harden and try again. If you leave it on too long, it becomes very hard to wipe off the smooth part of the glass. The color stays on with hand washing. I wouldn't suggest dishwashers - I suspect the high water temperature will soften it. At least that is what the wisdom of the internet says but I haven't tried it. Some colors cover better than others. Also, as it gets older you have to massage the tubes before using them. Even then, the first squeeze may not work well. That is part of why I apply it to a cotton sock - to see what that particular tube is about.

Delivery was early and both price and service were excellent, even included a glove for applying and a buffing cloth for polishing. Absolutely GREAT!

Painted a metal container with a lid and used the silver on the ornamental areas that stood out. Turned out beautiful!
