The Xplora Kidzi smart watch is a great gadget and is user friendly. My 3 year old can easily work it without help. He loves that he can ring family members and enjoys taking photos. The tracking feature is great and puts me at ease in case he ever wonders off!

Terrible battery life, awful tracking accuracy - different towns!! Charge it before bed and when wake up in the morning and still doesn't make it through the day. We bought 2 for both our kids as Xmas presents and both the same so can't blame it on being faulty

I purchased this Xplora watch for my 8 year old daughter. This watch is such a lightweight design , it's easy to use and really simple for the kids to enjoy. It has a messaging option that can only be used to the people that are designated to on the Xplora app. It has a camera, photo folder and steps counter. The steps counter enabled you to earn coins on the app so you can play games and earn more rewards. The watch has a gps tracker which is very accurate and enables you to see where your child is. The SOS feature when in trouble enables the watch to call you and the app sets an alarm off to alert you . I usually turn the school mode on when my daughter's at school so shes unable to use the features to she concentrates on her school work rather than playing on the watch. This can be switched on to your preference. Overall this watch is fantastic! Im very happy with all the features. It's a must buy for for any parent!

My child has started playing in the street , can’t read or write but I wanted a way I could contact him if I needed too and vice versa . Saw the reviews and this seemed to fit what I needed it to do . Battery life is great , I can track where my boy is if he ever wanders out the street , he can call me and his dad , text , leave voice notes and send emojis . Can only add contacts via the app on my phone so it’s safe , breaks up occasionally on calls but all in all I’m really happy with my purchase . For £7 a month it’s a bargain if it gives me peace of mind and him some extra freedom . Really pleased with it .

Why did you choose this product over others?: Product itself is great as an entry level watch for your children. The call functionality is great as is the accompanying app. The failing of the watch is on the text front. The wearer cannot message back other than with an emoji. This was disappointing and limited the functionality and practicality of what we were looking for On this occasion this did not meet our expectations/criteria and returned and replaced with an Apple Watch for our daughter. During the test the battery life was great and set up was really easy. Perfect watch for a counter wearer but our 8year old wanted a little more

Really happy with this — it gives me peace of mind tracking the kids on school trips without needing to give them a phone. Setup was easy, though it stopped connecting after day one. I fixed it (thanks to ChatGPT!) by switching the network from Orange to EE — not sure how I’d have solved it otherwise. It’s bulkier than other watches like Xplora XGO, which I slightly regret, but it’s also much cheaper. Great value overall, and I love that you can set safe contacts so kids can only message or call approved people.

I had high hopes for this GPS watch. My son is 9 and we wanted a way to track him in case he got separated from us while out. We thought this would be ideal. How wrong we were. Firstly, the call feature works ok. He can call me and I can call him. I can send him texts/emojis and he can send voice notes and emojis - most of the time. But this is less reliable than the calls. The main feature we wanted is the GPS tracking.However, it’s useless. It took two days after setting the watch up to be finally located on the GPS page! 95% of the time I get an error message saying that the location cannot be updated. I am using the SIM card that came with it (another £90 cost for the use of the sim for a year) and we are in a perfectly good reception area, but location still doesn’t update. We have been away on a short break and it didn’t update there either. My son likes that he can call us, but if he is in danger or lost, chances are i won’t be able to locate where he is! I have emailed the company about the GPS problems and an automated email was sent back. I tried everything that the email suggested, and then replied with more information like it asked. A week later and I am still waiting for a response. Looks like they can’t be bothered. I wish I hadn’t bothered with this watch, and just got a cheap phone and put the Life 360 app on it like I have with my daughter. The Life 360 app is 10000% better than this!!! In short, spend your money elsewhere and not on this watch.

Estoy muy satisfecha con el reloj, nuestra hija lo lleva desde hace más de medio año y nos da una gran tranquilidad al poder localizarla. Tiene la posibilidad de activar una tarjeta SIM y llamarla es una buena ventaja. El GPS funciona muy bien. Tiene una gran cantidad de funciones que lo hacen muy atractivo e interesante para los niños! Se escucha muy bien a la hora de hablar. Estamos contentos con este reloj.

Wir berichten von unserem ersten Monat mit der Kidzi von Xplora. Zuerst: Wir kennen zum Vergleich die x6 Play von Xplora und können da auch einen Vergleich ziehen, aber natürlich wird die Kidzi dabei im Vordergrund gehalten. Da wir durch unseren Anbieter eine Zusatz SIM haben, haben wir diese auch hier in der Kidzi drin. Xplora bietet aber auch eigene Tarife an. Die Uhr wird nur über Amazon vertrieben. Die Verpackung ist wie üblich schlicht gehalten, bis auf das Netzteil zum Laden ist alles inkludiert. Leider gibt es kaum noch Hersteller, die Netzteile einlegen. Klar, ist die Verpackung kleiner und die Logistik dadurch günstiger. Mittlerweile hat man auch für alle Typen ein Ladegerät zu Hause, aber meiner Meinung nach sollte hier für die Kinder eins dabei sein, vor allem weil in der Regel jeden Tag geladen werden muss, um sicher zu sein das sie den kommenden Schultag durch hält. Wir machen das Abends, der Ladevorgang geht relativ schnell, von etwa 40-100% in einer guten Stunde. Die Haptik der Uhr ist erstaunlich gut. Zuerst sah das alles sehr klobig aus, aber man selbst zieht ja gerne den Vergleich zur Smartwatch, hier geht es aber ja um eine Kinderuhr. Jede Angst, dass sie mit dem nächsten Knall gegen die Wand oder Türrahmen kaputt geht, ist nicht gegeben. Wahrscheinlich ist es gerade die Bauart, die die Uhr sehr resistent macht, hier muss man also wirklich keine Angst haben. Zum Betrieb: Die Installation der App ist einfach. Die Einrichtung ebenfalls: SIM rein, am besten vorher die PIN Eingabe ausschalten über ein anderes Handy, sofern eine eigene SIM genutzt wird. Die Kontakte, die erlaubt sind eben hinterlegen, fertig. In der App auf dem Smartphone kann man dann noch weitere Kontakte einladen, die dann mit der App auch Nachrichten an die Uhr senden können. Das gute, wirklich gute ist: Niemand fremdes kann das Kind auf der Uhr anrufen oder Nachrichten senden, ebenso kann das Kind keine anderen Nummern anrufen, als auf der Uhr freigegeben sind. Der Schulmodus funktioniert 1A, man gibt eine Zeit ein, in der die Uhr nur die Uhrzeit anzeigt. Man kann dann weder darauf anrufen, noch von der Uhr etwas anderes machen - sie ist schlicht gesperrt, aber die Notruffunktion an die hinterlegten Kontakte funktionieren. Wir haben unseren Kindern gesagt, dass sie natürlich lieber der Lehrern Bescheid geben, statt uns anzurufen. Die App gibt noch die Möglichkeit Sicherheitszonen festzulegen. Bewegt das Kind sich da heraus, gibt es eine Nachricht. Da kommen wir dann auch zur Ortung: Die Uhr ortet von Zeit zu Zeit automatisch, sodass ein Bewegungsprofil erstellt wird. Man kann auch selbst auf Orten klicken, dann wird der aktuelle Ort angezeigt. Das funktioniert natürlich alles über das Internet. Ebenso die Nachrichten, diese werden nicht als SMS übertragen, sondern per Datenverbindung. Zur Uhr allgemein lässt sich sagen, dass sie kein absolutes Sicherheitsplus für die Kinder ist. Die Notruffunktion benötigt 10 Sekunden, in der Zeit hätte man schon normal anrufen können. In der Schule sind Lehrer die Ansprechpartner. Wer dem Kind etwas Böses will, lässt die Ihr sowieso kalt, da braucht sich wohl niemand etwas vormachen lassen. Aber, und da fühlen wir uns als Eltern einfach besser: Wir können jederzeit mit unseren Kindern in Kontakt treten, auch wenn sie bei Freunden sind. Man ist auch direkt für die Kinder erreichbar - das ist schon etwas, wo heute noch gesagt wird: Aber früher… ja, aber heute haben wir eben andere Möglichkeiten, die wir früher auch genutzt hätten, hätte sie es gegeben. Für uns erfüllt die Ihr ihren Zweck und wir können sie auch bedingungslos weiter empfehlen. Durch den Schrittzähler sind wir auch immer wieder erstaunt, wie viele Schritte die Kids am Tag so laufen, das ist schon ein nettes Gimmick. Was ich noch verbessern würde, wäre die Akkulaufzeit und Genauigkeit bei der Ortung. Grundsätzlich in Ordnung, aber mit Abweichungen von 20-30m möglich. Oft sitzen wir zu Hause, aber die Uhr wird beim Nachbarn angezeigt. Sonst alles gut und guten Gewissens weiter zu empfehlen!

Die XPLORA Kidzi ist eine rundum empfehlenswerte Kinder-Smartwatch, die Eltern und Kindern gleichermaßen ein hohes Maß an Sicherheit und Komfort bietet. Besonders überzeugt haben uns die Notruffunktion sowie die präzise GPS-Ortung, die es ermöglichen, den Standort des Kindes jederzeit zuverlässig nachzuverfolgen. Auch die einfache Bedienung der Uhr ist ein großer Pluspunkt – selbst jüngere Kinder finden sich schnell zurecht und können die wichtigsten Funktionen ohne Mühe nutzen. Ein weiterer großer Vorteil ist die problemlose Nutzung im europäischen Ausland. Sowohl in Frankreich als auch in Spanien funktionierte die Uhr zuverlässig, was insbesondere für Familien, die viel reisen, sehr beruhigend ist. Natürlich gibt es auch Aspekte, die noch verbessert werden könnten: - Die Uhr ist relativ dick und trägt an kleinen Kinderarmen recht stark auf – hier wäre ein schlankeres Design wünschenswert. - Die Akkulaufzeit ist eher kurz, sodass die Uhr regelmäßig aufgeladen werden muss. - Nachrichten können ausschließlich über die Kidzi App versendet werden. Die App-Benachrichtigung bei neuen Nachrichten ist zudem sehr leise, selbst bei maximaler Lautstärke. - Es kommt leicht vor, dass aus Versehen Emoticons direkt von der Uhr gesendet werden, ohne dass dies beabsichtigt war. Fazit: Insgesamt handelt es sich bei der XPLORA Kidzi um eine sehr gute und durchdachte Smartwatch für Kinder, die vor allem als Sicherheitsfeature überzeugt. Die wenigen Schwächen werden durch die vielen Vorteile mehr als ausgeglichen. Mit einigen Verbesserungen im Design und bei den Benachrichtigungsfunktionen könnte die Uhr noch attraktiver werden – eine klare Empfehlung für Eltern, die auf Sicherheit und Zuverlässigkeit Wert legen!
