DC47-00016A Dryer Thermal Fuse for Samsung Dryer AP4201894 PS2038378

My Amana dryer quit on me one night and left me high and dry, well no, wet with a pile of undried clothes. The dryer would power on and select a cycle, but upon pressing start to begin the cycle nothing would happen. After some lengthy google searching and taking apart half my dryer I found this little item. Doesn't look like much but according to the internet this little thermal fuse is the most common issue when dryers look like they want to work but then don't. I was able to find it in my pile of parts now spread across my laundry room floor and determine it is of this style, even though it is labeled as Samsung it also works for my Amana ned7200tw, and figured I could spend less than $10 in hopes that I wouldn't have to spend $100+ on someone to come fix it. 2 days later it arrived, got to love 2 day shipping, and I popped it in with a perfect fit. After putting the pieces all back together, minus those extra screws that everything seems to have, I shut my eyes pushed the button and eureka we have heat. 2 months have now gone by and still working beautifully! Also make sure to clean out any lint that may be floating around during the parts all over the floor step, these are made to go out from overheating and that is usually caused by lint blocking and vents, and no one wants those pesky drier fires.

My dryer symptoms were upon pushing start I heard a slight click, and nothing. Time ran down, but motor did not turn. After several YouTube videos, I had the dryer disassembled in 5 minutes. Thought it was the common problem of the idler pulley breaking, but it wasnt. Used my voltmeter set to ohms and started at the mainboard to check for resistance through the motor line. Got Open Loop which means a circuit is broken somewhere in the line. Immediately checked motor windings and all good. This thermal fuse is secon inline to the motor. Checked the resistance of the fuse, and open loop. Found the culprit. A $6 fix saved me $600 for a new dryer. So far this part has worked flawlessly, its not Samsung OE, but a fuse is a fuse. Watch Youtube, do your own investigation and save yourself money.

This item saved me so much money having to replace the whole samsung dryer. It was a lot of work to get to this part but the replacement was easy. Recommend. save yourself money
