love the music
A great little discovery. I love this band now. I expected the album to co e with some sort of press release thing but instead I got an album case that was empty and the album cover wasn't very well kept. It also maybe because it lacked the second disc though

Being Human
I was very taken with PVT's last album, 2010's 'Church With No Magic'and can find no good reason to abandon them with the appearance oftheir new release 'Homosapien'. The Brothers Pike (Richard and Laurence)and Mr Miller make some very interesting noises on these eleven tracks.Although much of the ensemble's music is made with machines there is awarm human streak running through their inventions (the project's titleseems entirely apt). Technology is not a constraint here but a springboardfor exploration of a curious kind of 80's-tinged electro-soul. The vocalparts are particularly striking. Opening track 'Shiver' delivers an almostghostly faltering melody over a stuttering synth ostinato, cut throughwith occasional percussive splashes. It is a strangely affecting piece. The icy drones and fractured beats of 'Cold Romance' frame another strikingvocal arrangement full of yelps and yodels and wobbly harmonies. 'Vertigo'generates a palpable sense of apprehension and title track 'Homosapien'lumbers along like a big electric beast with its tail on fire. The prettyfinal number 'Ziggurat' flutters like fireflies on a warm Summer night. An absorbing box of tricks from top to tail.Highly Recommended.
