Going through this together as a family has been wonderful. It has brought memories back to my mom that she had long forgotten and that we never knew about. I highly recommend this for older parents and even young parents to keep the family memories alive.

This journal/memory keeper to pass on to others is wonderful as it provides many prompts to generate the thoughts, memories, and emotions to be able to document things. I believed this to be a great thing to pass onto my children.

Book its self is cute, I bought it as a just because gift, I am upset that it was covered in something that can’t be cleaned off, I have attached pictures, will be returning

This book happened to get delivered (to me) while my mum had just been taken into hospital. She's fine, but it was a reminder that there's never enough time and it goes so fast, so DO IT NOW.I presented this book to my mum along with a pen, and she was able to start writing in it while she spent 10 days getting transfusions and being poked and prodded, etc. When she came home my wife and I stayed with her a few nights to make sure everything was OK and I was able to peek at the book while she slept. Just the first few questions she answered already told me things I'd never heard and clarified stories I'd heard all my life but forgotten details of. It's *already* worth so much more than the price.Because of how perfect this book is, and how we treasure our mother's we knew we had to get a copy for my wife's mother, too. We actually found that there's lots of different types of book like this, and while my mother appreciates the cloth-abound cover, the sewn-in satin bookmark, the fountain pen we included with the book, the delicate iris washi stickers I put on the cover; we knew that my wife's mother would think all that made it too precious to touch and would put it away (and not fill it out!) so it wouldn't get damaged. We found a soft cover version with all the same types of questions but in a much more casual, non-delicate style. TBF, I don't think this book is particularly delicate; it's likely to withstand anything you throw at it and it's very well made, but if it would make your mum NOT keep it with her all the time and fill it all out, then by all means, get the "cheaper" one! The important thing is that you get your loved one to write all these things down before they're lost to time.There's also, thankfully, lots of different price points available from all different merchants. Don't let cost keep you from getting this type of book! This book is very well priced, but you can go up and down the scale, and there's versions for dads, grandparents (individually), aunts, uncles, etc. They've ALL got great prompting questions and room for extra notes or stories, and most hardcover ones have bookmarks and pockets in the back for clippings or pictures (a lot of soft cover ones have pages on which you can paste loose items instead of pockets).The important thing is to GET ONE and get it IN THEIR HANDS ASAP! Include a pen or pencil they'd like, and then there's no excuse. 😊

I am beyond pleased with this book. It is not repetitive. It asks so many important things that are great to know and your loved one will hold dearly. It has nice, thick, high-quality pages. There is a nice pocket in the back of the book for pictures, keepsakes etc. There is a page marker so you can keep track of where you left off. I plan on sprucing this up with pictures and stickers. So excited to have stumbled upon this.
