**Q: Is this better than a maple stand?**
A: A maple stand may have some good points, but the Auralex absorbs vibrations because of its foam layer.  The base layer is reasonably solid.  A good combo.  A maple base would probably need some sort of absorbing footers.

**Q: Are the dimensions given for the bottom piece or the top piece? What are the dimensions of the bottom ?**
A: They are the same size since they are joined permanently together. It is not two separate pieces.

**Q: Does this platform actually hold your turntable level?  Since it is foam on the bottom I imagine it might not level the turntable very well.**
A: This is a very high quality firm foam. You could likely stand on it and it wouldn't depress. Keeps the turntable very level and works amazing.

**Q: Can I use it as a drum riser ?**
A: I don't think it would make a good drum riser. May be suitable for a small guitar amp platform.

It perfectly fulfills its function of stabilizing the turntable. It also seems to minimize resonance. Very good quality and construction, and excellent value for money. It costs a fraction of what wooden stands do and performs the same function. Recommended.
