LOVE this shaving cream. Great scent, simple ingredients. Works very well if you use a slightly stiffer shaving brush, my softest brush is too soft for this one (but works well for the creamier soaps). Seems to last a reasonably long time. Plus my wife says it smells great...

Smells great but I think its more of a winter scent. Its more smoky and fire like. Lathers well and smells great just maybe a bit "warm" of a scent for summer time. Looking forward to using this in cooler weather.

Goodfellas has a reputation for good lather. With little effort you can easily whip up some solid lather for several passes. It is about as good as Tabac, my favorite shave soap. Tallow soaps are the best, in my opinion. I used a Bicrops shaving bowl and a Yaqi brush and had more than enough lather. You get a great shave with Goodfellas, great glide. As for the scent, it wasn't what I expected. It is more like Bay Rum or Old Spice than the advertised Leather, Cedar & Sandalwood. It is a strong scent, which is fine, but not at all what I expected. I easily pealed the D&D sticker off the container; not a fan of the artwork. The second time I used this, I forgot to use aftershave, and for hours afterwards I could still smell the scent on me, something I've never experienced with any other shave soap. I'd rate Goodfellas among the best shave soaps, but I think they need to better explain their scents.

This is my first tallow soap(my other shaving soaps are vegan) and my experience was good. I don’t think the tallow makes a huge difference it’s just another way to make shaving soaps and soaps in general and it’s usually the classic formula it seems. To me this soap smells heavily of cedar wood. It’s got a very warm scent. The experience I had was that it made me feel like I was in warm place lit by fire or next to a fire place, hence the name “inferno”. This soap was a very pleasant experience I feel like the price to oz ratio was pretty standard in the artisan soap space. If I had anything to compare it to it would be supply shaving cream but the cedar wood smell is much stronger and more natural and the soap was cheaper and much better quality. The art work was cool too it was very fantasy video game esque which is really cool since I’ve been into gaming for a large portion of my life and fantasy/scifi. This is a soft soap a “croap” if you will. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to try their vegan formula aswell.

Goodfellas Smile Inferno As a tallow based shave cream it provides a comfortable, smooth shave. Unfortunately it has, in my opinion, a very strong, complex and unpleasant scent that lingers throughout the day, and even overpowers my aftershave balm. However, because preference to a particular fragrance tends to be subjective, you may find that you actually like it. Additionally, I feel that the price point is a bit too high. Lathers up well but since started using this I started nicking my self way to offend. Not saying bad product, just didn't work for me.

Als iemand met een enigszins gevoelige huid die zich makkelijk openhaalt bij het scheren, was ik na twee decennia van verschillende soorten pre-shave, schuim, zeep, cremes, oliën e.d. eigenlijk wel op het punt dat ik geaccepteerd had dat een wondje of twee er gewoon bij hoorde als ik me ging scheren. Alle grote Nederlandse, Britse en Italiaanse merken hadden de revue al gepasseerd, en hoewel ik uiteindelijk bleef steken bij Proraso en ik het aantal wondjes had teruggebracht tot een minimum door een mengsel van scheertechnieken, een redeljk pre-shave ritueel en rustig scheren.. bleef ik toch regelmatig last houden van wondjes bij het scheren. Na een suggestie van een bevriende Arts om eens een ouderwetse zeep met talg te proberen kwam ik uit bij The Goodfellas Smile, en de beschrijving van de geur van deze zeep sprak mij het meeste aan, en ik ben tot nu toe zeer tevreden. Over de geur zeg ik slechts dit; hou je NIET van Cederhout en/of Sandelhout, kies dan een andere (super)tallow zeep van dit merk, de houtgeuren hebben bij de Inferno productlijn de boventoon. Dan de zeep zelf; het opbouwen van een goed, smerend schuim vraagt iets meer gebruik van water dan een moderne scheercreme/zeep als Proraso of een zeep zoals van Vergulde Hand (die allebij al snel te waterig worden), maar het resultaat is absoluut de moeite waard. Ik moet bij het uitgebreid scheren (met ouderwets scheermes) echt domme dingen doen zoals te snel willen scheren, onder een te scherpe hoek scheren, of te veel druk op het mes uit oefenen om mezelf nog te snijden. Zelfs bij haastig scheren met een Wilkinson moet ik het heel bont maken, en zelfs dan zijn de wondjes minimaal, en gaan meestal uit zichzelf dicht nog voor ik aan Aluin en Aftershave toe kom. Deze zeep (zeker in combinatie met de pre-shave van hetzelfde merk) is wat mij betreft dan ook de beste keuze die ik in jaren heb gemaakt.

El Shibusa 2 tendrá la fama, pero el Inferno es, para mí, el mejor jabon de la marca sin ninguna duda. Todo dependerá de lo que uno busque, claro está, pero es el más protector y con mejor deslizamiento. A pesar de ser de sebo como el Shibusa, este está un punto por encima en casi todos los aspectos: la espuma la percibo mas rica y densa, se adhiere mejor, proteje mucho y el deslizamiento está por encima. En cuanto al olor parece que hay división de opiniones, es cierto que no es para todo el mundo pero en mi caso cuanto más lo uso más me gusta. En el tarro el olor es floral y ligeramente dulce, sin empalagar. Cuando empiezas a espumar el olor se transforma y empieza a oler a maderas y humo...en definitiva, a incienso. Es un olor bastante potente (más que otros de la marca) y también tiende a permanecer más tiempo en la piel después del afeitado. Me gusta mucho la marca, tengo el Re Nero, el Shibusa 2 y el Solo (fórmula AJ1) y con ellos cubro la variedad de bases que ofrece TGS, además de tener otros jabones de marcas clásicas, y siempre vuelvo a este jabón como mi jabón de referencia, mi favorito. Lo repondré antes de que llegue a acabarse! Si ya has probado más jabones de la marca o si se te han acabado alguno de los de sebo, antes de repetir con el Shibusa o el Tallow nº1 dale una oportunidad a este jabón, porque creo que te va a sorprender. Si eres nuevo en el mundo del afeitado clásico o en la marca también te lo recomiendo, siempre y cuando creas que el olor no sea un problema, ya que no es para todo el mundo
