So I ordered this feeder in spite of previous reviews about leaking. Initially it worked great, but sure enough, when the sun heated it up it started dripping. At first some Teflon tape around the threads did the job. But after continued use it started a slow drip again. So I went to the o-ring at the base of the threads fix and that is working so far. It’s a shame that this version leaks because I really like the improvements that the company made over the old version (wide mouth opening, red glass, ant trap). It really is a very sturdy feeder and the hummingbirds are very attracted to it. They now just need to make the seal a little more air tight to stop the leaking issue. Update - ok so all of my efforts to stop this feeder from leaking have proven fruitless. It continues to drip all over our side walk, attracting ants. The company needs to listen to its product reviews and fix this issue. Rating reduced from 3 stars to 1. Update 2 - called Perky-Pet customer service and they were very helpful and understanding. I spoke with Megan who provided me with an email address to obtain a replacement feeder. You need to provide a screen shot of your Amazon receipt, your issue with the feeder, your shipping address and phone number. I got a response within 24 hours stating that my new feeder is on its way and will arrive in 3-5 business days. The email is [email protected]. Their customer service is top notch. I’ll update my review again when I get my replacement feeder. UPDATE 3 - perky Pet sent me a few replacement that I received within 5 days. The new works great! Definitely a design change. We have nesting hummingbirds about 150 yards from our porch, where we have two of these RED (really red!) feeders. Our Sit-and-Sips see a lot of traffic during the day, particularly when the younglings have hatched. These feeders are easy to fill and attract many hummers during the day. Unfortunately, the feeders must hang in direct afternoon sun, so the nectar can spoil easily. The bright red and yellow feeding ports can prove difficult to clean, even with hot, soapy water, and they can have a tendency to leak nectar. But overall, they bring joy to our days and laughter to our table.

I was looking for a hummingbird feeder that was less attractive to wasps, and this one seemed like a good choice since the nectar sits below "screens" that are too far for bugs, but accessible to the HB beaks. This seems to do the trick. Additionally, the others I've always owned (larger capacity) allow for the nectar to spoil in the heat, whereas a smaller capacity is being drained more quickly so I'm refilling more often - but with fresher nectar. I just make a larger batch and keep it in the refrigerator to refill. Subsequently, I'm getting more birds more often. Cleans easily, doesn't drip when you carry it inside to refill. Probably 1/2 the price of others I've owned, with less successful results.

I love Perky Pet and have many of their feeders, including an older one similar to this. Don't like plastic feeders because heat makes them yellow and cloudy over time. I was happy to find a red glass version because our hummers prefer red to any other clear or colored feeder. Also liked that it was only 8 oz. We live in a hot climate so I waste less food if the birds don't drain the feeders before needing to clean and replace with fresh food. This feeder, however, leaks like crazy. The slightest breeze making it swing will make food rain out. I had more crusty food on my deck than the birds got to eat. I just read a review somone wrote mentioning heat fluctuations also make the feeder leak due to the pressure changes in the bottle. I am not science-minded enough to make that kind of deduction, but our climate is also hot, so having a feeder that leaks if it gets hot or the wind blows isn't very useful to me!! So frustrating. I threw it in the trash and am back to my red vintage glass feeders and only filling them half full. At least they don't leak when they swing in the wind or it gets too hot. Whatever the redesign was from the old feeders, I wish they would go back. These are terrible!

I love that it is glass. It helped to rid my feeders of bees. It is easy to fill but you will need to turn it over to hang. It will stream out if you tip it but it isn’t horrible. One of the bee guards has come loose and I am finding it difficult to reattach because the opening is small. It isn’t perfect but gets the job done.

I have several types of birdfeeders and find these the best. You can put water in the top so ants cannot crawl in. Holds just enough water so the hummingbirds can drink it all before it spoils. Very simple design and easy to clean. I did have one that I bought from a store. It was identical to these except the glass was not red. The loop that you hang it by is plastic. The plastic part broke and I was not able to fix it. I did not use the metal hook that comes with it so that may be why the plastic broke. I had used a wire. I have not had any issues with the ones I ordered from Amazon. But I have not had them very long. I will buy them again .

We love seeing the hummingbirds come to these feeders, but we've had trouble with dripping, as others have stated. Now, less than a year after purchase, the plastic base has a large crack in it and the sugar water leaks freely. Apparently, replacements for this part aren't available, so I'll look for another more durable feeder.

This is a nice medium sized feeder that only needs to be filled every other day. It's easy to assemble and disassemble for cleaning. It's easy to fill as it sits on the counter. Great value!

I am very impressed with this nectar feeder, I only hung it up today and the birds are already using it. We will see how long it lasts but for now I am very impressed. It is a smallish bottle but I think that will be a good thing and less wasteful if it needs to be changed frequently.

I like these the best of any and all feeders I have used. The birds like them too! The color is very attractive, and attractive to the hummers as well. The birds choose these over my other feeders, and the only difference is the color. There is less plastic in these feeders because the main body is glass, so this is appealing to me as well.

Amei! Funcionou com as abelhas, elas não conseguiram beber a água e foram embora, mas vi que os beija-flores bebem menos água pois o nível de água muda pouco, parece que alguns não conseguiram usar o bebedouro.
