This soldering kit heats up quickly, the temperature control works well, and the tips hold their heat properly. The quality is normal, but it definitely does the job. I mainly use it to repair my little one’s toys, especially the remotes that often have very light or poor-quality contacts. This soldering iron is perfect for fixing those small issues without any trouble. The included accessories are useful, the stand is stable, and the kit is easy to work with. For the price, it’s a solid choice that does exactly what you expect.

Ok it works but flimsy

Best value and best performing soldering station i have ever tried. The helping hands are very useful. My only criticism would be is that it has short cables for the iron and mains, but that's just being picky. EXCELLENT.

YIHUA 926LED III. The instructions said on first switch on set the temp to 250C and apply a solder to the iron tip. It would not melt solder at 250C. The solder station needed calibration and was unusable. I first thought that having the station, solder iron stand and third hand in one unit would be very practical but I found it cramped, inflexible and the third hand kept getting in the way. My soldering jobs are mainly joining wires and soldering wires to connectors. This third hand was no good for this because after accurately positioning the flexible arms and then letting go the arms would spring back. The third hand would probable work for small PCBs. The display is small, basic and the light indicating the iron is heating up tiny. I returned the station and am looking for a solder station with separate control unit, iron stand and third hand to give the flexibility I need.

This soldering iron station arrived in a sturdy, branded cardboard box. Inside, everything is packed in plastic bags for protection in transit. There are also five spare iron tips and a spool of solder included. There is a small amount of assembly required. The ‘helping hands’ have to be screwed into the sides along with the solder spool carrier and a small spanner is supplied for this. Of course, the unit will work fine without these being attached. The iron heats up very quickly (see video) so it’s perfect for those quick jobs. There is a single rotating knob to control the temperature which also acts as a button to change the temperature display (°C / °F), sleep time and temperature calibration. There is an on/off switch on the back of the unit. In use the iron holds a constant temperature. I used it (with the fine tip) to replace a Micro-USB charging port in a tablet and it did the job well (the old one was removed with a hot air station). I really like the small footprint of this device. Without the spool carrier attached it’s quite narrow so I can leave it at the back of my workbench ready to use whenever needed. This is a good little solder station but I think at £39.99 it’s a bit overpriced. Most standalone soldering irons these days have a temperature control so this station really just makes things a bit more convenient with its iron stand, cleaning sponge, clear temperature display and helping hands. If you’re looking for a small, basic bench iron then this is perfect but I’m knocking off a star because of the price.

I bought this to replace my Weller TCP bench soldering iron which was 40 years old!. This soldering station is well made being made of solid plastic, There is a good selection of quality tips provided. The soldering iron lead is flexible and does not pull when manipulating the iron and is probably made of heat resistant material. The sleep/standby function is useful. The temperature is well controlled and heats up rapidly. I calibrated the temperature using a thermocouple but it was not far out. The only downside is that the mains lead is not long enough and is heavy duty and stiff but I can live with that. Overall a good quality compact bench soldering iron station for precision electronics work. I have not had it long so I can't vouch for its durability and reliability.
