322 Gtech AirRam Vacuum Cleaners Shaft Spindle with Aluminium Gear & Bearings

First things first! The service from this seller was one of the best I've ever encountered on Amazon, or anywhere else come to think of it. I had previously tried a nylon geared spindle to solve the horrendous screech of the originally installed part. The nylon gear cone was screeching and disintegrating after a few minutes or so of cleaning. Dismatled again the evidence was in the gear box.I then checked out the aluminium drive spindle with the supplier (through the amazon link) and he answered every question with plenty of supplementary advice.Dismantling the g-tech and installing the new aluminium part was a doddle by this time. On first use the machine seemed louder than I thought it would but the was no screeching. Whether the machine was loud when we first bought it I wouldn't know. However I've used it several times with no bothersome screech, Yesterday my wife was using it at the other end of the house and it didn't seem as loud as I would have expected.Conclusions: I'm very pleased with the seller's service and so far with the product. I recommend them both.

Our Gtech was useless we read the reviews of the plastic gear shaft and how it would just 'sheer' again, so we are giving this Aluminium Gear & Bearings replacement a try, £20 or just bin the Gtech. Watching the 'how to' videos helped us strip and reassemble the motor - the old plastic gear was bald and shredded, what a design fault Gtech! We installed it & It works! A bit noisier than before but MY how good the carpet looked. I will hopefully add more praise to this review in a months time! I am also really mindful now of NOT catching fringes, laces etc, as I use the Gtech!

This replacement part was fine once I fitted it using shims to take up the wear .

This works efficiently. My only disappointment is that it is rather more noisy than the cheaper version.

For the sake of another £20.00 why are they not putting this in there machines as this has got to be far superior than the plastic one fitted and a life span of less than the guarantee. Worth paying the extra £5/6 pound for this metal shaft spindle it has got to last a good few years longer.

Lasted a bit longer than the plastic cog. Bit noisier than plastic one. But very suprised gtech haven't found something that would last longer we've not had hoover for 6 months and already on 3rd cog. I do use it 2 or 3 times a day though

Amazing. Replaced the old plastic gear and this is a bit louder but works like a charm and shouold last a hell of a lot longer! 5/5
