I was shopping for 12v underground direct-burial wire landscaping lights. This wire showed up on the screen so I bought 400 feet of it. Now that it's buried I found out that this wire isn't rated for direct burial. It reads online here on Amazon as "low voltage." I had no reason to think it wasn't direct burial since I typed "underground landscaping wire 12v 14 gauge" in the search bar. Well, it's not direct-burial, it's speaker wire. It's not polyethylene coated, it's PVC. That means the 400 feet of wire I buried will last around 2 or three years before it rots, cracks, oxidizes and disintegrates. The wire itself is a very high quality 14 gauge wire with a thick PVC coating. I definitely recommend this wire for speakers. But don't buy this wire for underground landscape lighting.

This wire works great for wiring almost anything in my car. Used it as speaker wire, wire for USB plugs, and wire for a few light bulbs. I got the 14gauge wire so it would be thick and versatile enough for different uses. Only minor issue I didn’t like was how thick the casing is around the wires. Other 14 gauge wires don’t have such thick casing. Is was a minor issue when using electrical connectors and the casing didn’t fit in the connector. Minor issue though.

This low-voltage wire was exactly what I needed for my landscape lighting project. The wire is of outstanding quality, and using quick connectors to connect the lights means 'no more wire stripping' and eliminates worries about not having a watertight connection. I love the red and black colored wire. Without red and black, one has to look closely at the wire for white letters to tell which wire is red or black. For any DIYer, look no further.

4.5 stars not quite 5, as it is hard to seperate the wire without revealing one of the bare wires. great value with the length included and the thickness. Seems well insulated and good quality.

Wire seems fine. It’s not on a spool, so it may turn into a mess with use.

This is excellent and strong speaker wire at a very good price.

I live in Michigan. We have all four seasons. Weather goes from 100 degrees to negative 20. It has been outside several years through blistering sun to being covered in snow and it still works great and even the light up connector is still working.
