Question 1

Would this work for high levels of vocs and formaldehyde in a small 12.5m3 room 0.221mg/m3 formaldehyde and 1.870mg/m3 total vocs constantly

Accepted Answer

Coverage is roughly 20m3. And works for chemicals and VOCs so should have an effect.

Question 2

What (if any) filters or other parts do I need to change after a period of using it?

Accepted Answer

There are 2 black carbon filters, 1 fitted at the top of the machine, the other is a spare. The filters can be cleaned with a hand held vacuum cleaner. They need to be replaced every 6 months. There is an internal reactor cell which should be placed every 8000 hours of use.Full information is given in the Handbook. There is also a plastic fragrance filter case which sits on top of the machine if desired.

Question 3

Is this the Hextio air purification x10, or is this an old model? The price is quite different from the official website.

Accepted Answer

This is the original Hextio Air Purifier and Steriliser (there is only one model) at a new reduced price. It is the air purifier only, there are no additional accessories such as fragrance filter hood, directional airflow hood or spare carbon filters. These can be purchased separately. The price on the website is for Hextio plus all the extra accessories. I hope that helps.

Question 4

I've heard it's quite loud - if i run this at night, how does it compare to other filter noises on the market like the philips ac3259/60 ?

Accepted Answer

It is noisy compared to the Philips, I own both. I do not mind the noise though. Noise decreases in night mode. Both models are expensive for what they are. The quieter one by far is the Philips. I use the essential oil add on on the hexio and like it. The Philips is better for mechanical filtration but the Hexio better for chemical contaminents. Hope this helps.
