I took the plunge on this following a string of unsuccessful cheaper alternatives. This is made of a semi flexible plastic and is very robust. It isn't adhesive like some of the others, which was exactly what I was looking for due to our hardwood floor. The adhesives were bringing up the varnish! Despite them not being adhesive, they don't move around and offer decent protection for the floor. I haven't observed any damage to my floor since using these. The only thing that I will say is that they are not completely transparent and it is quite obvious that the mat is in place. That doesn't bother me at all, but some find that important to note

I reviewed this one time but it never showed up on Amazon. This is a very good product. I'm using it on a hard vinyl composition tile floor. It is plenty big enough for a rolling office chair, lays perfectly flat and is hardly noticeable. The people who complained about not being able to get it to lay flat obviously can't or won't follow directions and as far as it being hard to roll out, I'm 75 years old with physical limitations and had no problem on my own. Very sturdy and thick. Excellent for wooden floors. Ordered a second. Very pleased.

This mat was the perfect thing for our home office. It flat and sturdy and works great on our wood flooring. It came packaged very well. It was also packaged flat (not rolled up) which was wonderful.
