I purchased this set primarily to crush small amounts of chia and flax seeds. This accomplishes the task well and the size is perfect to make crushing a tablespoon of seeds quick and easy. You will want to season this bowl properly before use particularly if you plan on doing pounding and grinding. I primarily only do crushing with some rolling.

After using it for a few weeks I really like this mortar. You stood for grinding up herbs to Coffee Beans. It is a good buy.

I love to cook and this is perfect for making pesto's and grinding herbs. I love it! Great value I highly recommend it!
