I’d not used this one before, and I did my patch test as instructed (mainly because I wanted to see if it would do anything to the faded blue I have on the bottom of my hair and it didn’t but I had no reaction). Followed guidance to the letter and it’s still yellow tinged and a few bits where I possibly need to touch it up slightly but it was so strong I don’t want to put any more bleach on my hair for quite some time - I usually only do it every three months anyway but think I might need to leave it longer. I did this as a base as I intended to keep colouring it bright colours so in that regards it worked, but I might try a couple of weeks of using purple shampoo to see if I can tone it to a cooler shade, I’d love it pure white but I’d have to get that done properly my hair is in no state to do that myself. The pic I’ve added doesn’t really show the yellowy but as that’s nearer the back. I felt like my face went really hot about 8hrs after doing it and I checked nhs website and it might just have been a mild reaction so I took an antihistamine, fell back asleep & was then fine so just be careful - it might just be I’mrun down and susceptible to anything haha! As an aside, I use herbal essences hair heat protect oil every time I dry my hair & I started taking hair/nail vitamins about 6weeks ago and I don’t know if it’s just the placebo effect or if it’s because I was trying not to wash/dry it so often it felt in better condition. Will carry on taking them now I’ve put this dye on!

I bought this to try and lighten up my hair after a couple of years giving my hair a break. I’m no stranger to colouring hair and have been dying my own routinely for around 5 years with very little trouble. the entirety of my head was virgin hair, so in theory this should have lightened it much better than if I’d had any other dye or treatment on it, however this time the colour did not come out as I expected it to. I used two boxes and left it on for the full processing time but the end result was still very yellow and no amount of toner will fix it so I will have to apply another lightener after I’ve given my hair a few conditioning treatments to help mitigate the damage. my hair was a dark blonde to begin with, so I’m not sure what went wrong, but I do advise anyone thinking about using it to make sure you have extra contingencies in place just in case! as with all live colour colourants, the application was very quick and easy, and the directions are easy to follow. the smell is incredibly strong which is to be expected from a lightening treatment, so if purchasing, make sure to use it in a well ventilated space.
