Review: As I approach 50, I have been focusing on getting healthy. I've never been a regular work out guy - just kept active. Getting older, that doesn't quite cut it anymore. I've been easing back into working out with calisthenics and kettlebells, and wanted to try something a bit more varied in the resistance area. The Fitnix system is a game-changer! Compact, the whole setup fits in a small backpack. The weighted Olympus Grips are the key component, with resistance bands, jump rope, and hanging straps included in the premium package, all which attach via carabiner to the grips. The componentry is all high quality, and would fit right in a professional gym. While overhead anchor mounts are included in the kit, I have not identified a good spot in my house to attach them (they come with beefy lag bolts), so I have not yet tried exercises specific to those. Using the bands and grips, however, I have been able to discover many different exercises. The Olympus Grip app provides a wide array of workouts with hundreds of different exercises. You can choose the type of workout, the intensity, and the app walks you through the exercises and, with audio on, gives you cues of where you are in each set. You can preview each exercise listed for the workouts, so you can be familiar with them before beginning. As a new user, I found it's a bit challenging moving from position to position, especially using bands, if you're not completely familiar with the upcoming exercise. This should improve with time. The workouts do a great job of targeting muscle groups, or whole body, and keep your heart rate elevated with interval, metabolic timing. You really sweat with this system, even on the "beginner" workouts. I'm also noticing muscles being activated that I haven't noticed with other workouts. A few areas for improvement I've noticed: - The app is great, and there is a phone holder provided that attaches to the grip to get it closer to you, however, during the workouts it's sometimes difficult to see the video. I'd love to see an online version of the app so you can view the workout on a larger computer or TV screen to follow along. - The carabiners on some of the bands are a bit small, and challenging to change out quickly on the grips Neither of these is a huge deal, and the robust variety of workouts you get from this kit more than makes up for it. I love that this company is started by an American service member. I have chatted with Chris as I've been trying out the system, and he is absolutely dedicated to providing a solid product. Communication and customer service is top notch, and I appreciate the effort he and his team are putting into continually improving their app and product. This is a fantastic set of equipment, and I look forward to meeting my workout goals with it in my arsenal.
Review: …. But do not let it’s design and it’s simplicity and minimal form fool you. This is an incredible, and very well thought out and designed piece of exercise equipment. It does not appear to be a whole lot, and because of this, this year, amount of exercises and effectiveness that this little piece of equipment does have during your workouts will absolutely blow your mind. There is an app which is super helpful and explains the exercises (which there are literally hundreds of) to use with this tiny piece of equipment. And it’s not just for the hands and arms it can be used for your entire body. And the results are shocking to say the least. Who says you need to have a weight bench or fancy expensive heavy and space taking equipment to be able to get a work out that will take you far. The inventor really thought this through and put lots of thought into this design. The price point is rather high, but considering what you’re getting for that price, and the fact that it is potentially an entire body piece of equipment, makes it worth the expense. There is also a less expense to version that is I believe slightly more basic, and not as comprehensive and able to be utilized in as many ways or on as many body parts. But considering the sheer sophistication of this unit, and just how comprehensive it can be in reguards to your whole body workout, I would not underestimate even the cheaper version. I’m sure that it is every bit as well thought out as the more expensive one. It is quality made, and I can’t imagine anybody being disappointed with this piece of equipment, especially in correlation with its price tag . It is worth it.

The weighted Olympus Grips are the key component, with resistance bands, jump rope, and hanging straps included in the premium package, all which attach via carabiner to the grips. The componentry is all high quality, and would fit right in a professional gym. The Ultimate Fitness Strength Trainer has an iOS App and is a Portable Hand-Held Calisthenic Gym. It is a great choice for someone who lives in a small space with no room to workout or take with you while traveling. It all comes in a nice backpack that stores everything you need. I will admit that fitting everything back in the bag after first use is a major challenge and a drawback for me. I like that it comes with an easy to navigate app with 600 plus exercises. I will admit that some of these are out of my ability which means I am much more limited on the exercises I can do. I'm sure someone more physically fit would have no problem. Also the system is a little pricey for what you get. Maybe with time I will see more of the worth in it and will have to update on that as well as my progress but so far I am satisfied.
