Have had this for a few months now and still works incredibly well. Very bright, changes to about any color and any brightness. Wires are strong. Doesn’t tip over, easy to adjust and transport.

Adaptive to use

I had the white lamp for several years, and it's fine, but I recently made the mistake of picking up the RGB version. It's extremely flimsy. The bracket which attaches the light to the stand uses a bizarre "ratchet" mechanism instead of just a regular tightening screw. The screws holding the light to the stand literally *fell out*, and are barely holding on after trying to reattach it, like they're screwed into plastic. Seriously, is this the best you could do guys? Do better. The light itself is fine, but the mounting bracket is trash.

Bright light and works perfectly. I thought it’d be a cheap build, but it’s actually good quality. Remote works only for the camera once bluetoothed to the phone, so I kind of find that a bummer. I wish there was an app to control the rest of the lamp, but it’s all manual controls. Turn knobs and press buttons. Needs an app to really bring this light to its best function. It’s easy to use, but again. Needs app to be better. The case and everything it comes with is surprisingly well built, it was just supposed to be used when I need it, but it’s been pretty set up and used daily. Head and height are easily adjusted. I love the knog with the press button to wrench down the tightness, that was a perfect addition. Just add a app and you have something special here!

Lightweight, easy to move. Controls are easily accessible. My only complaint is that the power cord should be longer. I had to move my power supply away from the wall and closer to the tripod. Works great for product photography.

Bright sturdy as described

I originally bought the NEEWER 18 Inch RGB LED Ring Light but couldn't figure out how to work it. The seller was very helpful in guiding me to find the best ring light for my uses. They have been communicating with me, giving very clear instructions on how to put together my new ring light, which is not as complex as the first one I ordered. The ring light I have now is the NEEWER Ring Light 18inch Kit, and I highly recommend it for anyone who does not need a technically advanced ring light. And if you have any issues, just contact the seller--they go above and beyond to help.

I'm not sure if I should take one star or two stars for the fact that this light is super top heavy and leans because the base is not sturdy. The functionality of the light itself is really great, but if it can't stand then it's not really great is it? I haven't used the little remote yet, so I can't give any feedback on that. I will say that it was incredibly difficult to figure out how to attach the actual light to the stand because it is not described in the small picture directions, nor could I find any video online on Amazon or YT that could show me how. I wrestled with it for a long time until I accidentally did something that adjusted it. Took me a minute to recreate it. Once you know how to though, it's easy to adjust the light on the flexible rod that's included with a ball socket for swivel. This is a plug-in light, so it's portable, but you need to have access to an outlet. I'm not a fan of how the flexible rod attaches to the light; it is too small for the whole and the screw is supposed to make it tighten and sturdy but it doesn't at all. Again, the base is not stable either. I've seen other lights by this brand, I own another light by this brand, that has a different style of base that's super sturdy because there's reinforcement. I don't know why this very heavy on the top light has a practically flimsy base. I think I do have to give it three stars, because you can't adjust it as you need to without fear of it falling over, which it often does. On a good note, there are lots of settings for the lights. There's a setting for response to noise/sounds/music, there are lots of other modes too including flashing lights like police red and blue lights, solid lights and different colors, the ability to dim or to brighten, and it comes with warm panels for the light too. Brightness on this lamp is great! The assembly of the lamp light was pretty quick and easy, except for attaching the actual ring like to stand.

I will be reviewing the 18” RGB LED Ring light by Neewer. I must say that the delivery was super fast through amazon. You receive a very large box with the product and all of its contents very neatly and securely packed inside. You get a very durable travel bag to store all the contents inside. The main Ring light is quite larger than I expected, as its a very wide width light which is even better! Other accessories include the almost 62” tripod stand, a flexible tube arm, a ball head holder with the adjustable phone mount. You get all the instructions in the user manual provided. Now for the quality. I am thoroughly impressed. There are a ton of features packed into this ring light! You get 3 modes; CCT, HSI, and FX. 1. HSI mode is the natural lighting colours, from blue-white (10K) all the way up to yellow (2500k). This is my most used mode when I am taking selfie pictures or making a vlog. You can easily dim the lighting to your preference as well! 2. CCT mode is your rainbow hues! You can choose any colour and the light will omit only that colour! It's great for filming areas where colour is needed. I don’t use this as often because FX is much more fun 3. FX mode is your special effects and light-shows. This is where you can choose whichever sequence you want for your RGB lights. You can choose flashing, slow merge, music sync and even more! There are 18 sequencing options you can choose from! The app required for downloading is actually a great feature put into this product. Usually controllers are lost or misplaced but a phone is accessible almost everywhere now. The ring light is connected to your phone via bluetooth. You can conduct almost all of your setting changes on the app if you take the time to learn the different functions and features. The buttons on the back of the light will overwhelm you at first, as everything is labelled by pictures and no writing. But once you get a hang of it then you will be able to quickly change the modes without guessing or looking. My iPhone 12 Pro Max fits on this RGB ring light perfectly, which is one of the largest phones on the market right now. So rest assured that your phone will definitely fit on this light! You can even install your camera as well but if you want to install a tablet or iPad, then a larger adapter will be needed but still doable. Overall I am extremely pleased with this Ring light, I just need a few softbox lights to fully finish my studio now! It does take a little bit of a learning curve but that's required for any product with this many features and functions! Definitely recommend!

it worked for two weeks, now it wont stop changing colors going lighter and brighter to darker on its own

Overall, quite happy with the product. The ring becomes top heavy at any bent angle especially if you're trying to get a solid 'top down' shot This one offered more features for the light itself which is why I went with it. And there are A LOT of features It's not for everyone and is definitely a better item for specific needs. The power supply gets quite hot if on a medium to High setting for anything over 3-4hrs. On low level settings, I seem to get 7-9hrs before it gets hot but that depends primarily on the colour's and brightness being used

I've been quite happy with this 18 inch ring light from NEEWER. I've actually never used a ring light this large before, but have been super happy with the results. For what it is, this offers a large, easy to use, soft and even light for your set up at home. It's well made and gives you full control over your lights with the NEEWER App. I have a few mother NEEWER lights that can be controlled through the app as well, and it's very convenient being able to change your color and brightness settings for each light from your phone. This comes with a proper light stand to mount this with, as well as a tripod mount for your camera inside the ring light itself. You can get fairly flat even lighting with this with your camera or phone installed in the centre of the ring light, which is good as a quick and easy set up for a zoom call. If you want something a bit more natural looking, I'd recommend having your phone or camera on a separate mount so you can shift and adjust the position of the light to above and about 45 degrees from your face - this will offer a much more natural looking light set up with nice shadows that highlight the contours and edges of your face. Overall for the money this is a great option for large, high quality ring light that's a definite step above other ring lights on the market. 100% would recommend!
