The fragrance is noticeably strong, so it does make its presence known, but in our case that has worked rather well. My partner can be quite particular about scents and quick to object if something smells artificial or overbearing, so the fact that she liked this one was a very good sign indeed. It has a floral character that feels clear and noticeable without being unpleasant. It is also straightforward to use, which is exactly what one wants from a refill cartridge. Once in place, it does the job properly and freshens the space well. I do still wonder how long it will last in practice, as that is the one thing only time will really tell, but on first impressions it has certainly performed well. It is worth being clear that this is the refill cartridge only and not the dispenser itself, so buyers do need to have the correct unit already.
