The description says dark brown with auburn, but it's more like darkest brown with just a hint of red in the right light. I tried to use box color, but apparently it was not "virgin" hair, so it did nothing. I then used color remover and it turned to a beautiful dark auburn. Hair is decent quality and has a bit a wave to it. I only paid $51 for it, so it was a good deal. I'd have been disappointed if I'd paid $100.Update 2.28.17--I've now purchased 5 of these in various colors and weights. Once it was virgin hair, the rest it was not so I had to use color remover to get it to the red that matches my hair. The hair is thick and seems to be great quality, BUT the one major problem is the tangling. After I color, I let it air dry. I rarely use heat, products, or wash, but they tangle terribly. There's NO way you would get a year's wear out of these unless you only wore them once a week. I get about 30 days at the most. Paying more than $60 a set for these is RIDICULOUS.
