excellent high quality controller
Been using this controller for a while now and it is a dream of a controller to use. I love the layout of the thumbsticks matching xbox, The quality is spot on, the button seems pretty responsive but I have noticed my right trigger has this weird mechanic where I need to press the top of it rather than the back to get a proper execution of it. I think this could be resolved in the app but not worked that out yet as never felt the need to use it, would still recommend it. Best of all no stick drift on this as they use hall effect thumbsticks.

Great controller at a sensible price
Very well made, nice weight, very good sticks and decent d-pad. I find I actually prefer this to the official Xbox controller.

Great controller that SUPPORTS the Switch 1 AND 2
I loved the colour and watched a few video reviews all praising the 8bitdo Ultimate controller, including its dock. After doing hefty searching online, I found out how to connect it to the Switch. You need to switch on "Pro Controller Wired Communication" from "Controller and Sensors" in System Settings, then plug in the included receiver dongle. Finally, you need to press and hold 'minus' + 'LB' together until your Switch shows it has paired with the controller. I had it on 'X' input from the toggle switch on the back of the controller. Ignore the fact 'Switch' isn't mentioned, nor the lack of Bluetooth. This controller is definitely 100% compatible with the Switch. I've also tried it on the original and OLED models too. The latter through a 3rd party dock.Update 1: (Switch 1) With the new system update, you might need to use another controller to select it (greyed out) from the "Find new controllers" section.Update 2: (Switch 2) You will need to download new firmware for the 2.4 GHZ receiver. Search for this article: "8BitDo Releases Firmware Patches for Switch 2 Compatibility" then download from "More Devices (Parent Directory)" the following: "Ultimate24GRR110.zip". Note: You need to follow the steps from this article THEN what I listed in my review too.

Street Fighter Fans Beware
A very good controller, but if you play any of the Street Fighter games get something else.I found the D-pad to be very mushy and pulling of moves very difficult.

Great design and works across multiple devices
Works really well across PC and a Raspberry Pi retro setup. The menu button triggers the Xbox menu on Windows 11, so it’s a great option.

Very temperamental, barely used since buying.
Bought it as my Xbox controller died, honestly had issues upon issues since getting it, at first it would occasionally bug out on games, or not show up as connected, and now it just doesn't work at all when connected to the dock, it vibrates and has the light on but isn't actually connected, if I take the receiver out the dock and into my pc it works, but once I turn it on and try connect it again it doesn't. I've updated all the firmware and paired etc, but nothing. very disappointed as I've not used the controller very much since purchasing last year.

2.4G unreliable
I face pretty frequent disconnection to my PC, I've read online that 2.4G seems to have some problem with USB3 ports, where it could interfere with the transmission and cause disconnection issues, but I've followed the advice from 8bitdo's website to put the received dongle inside the charging dock, and yet I'm still facing disconnection issues. The controller feels great in hand, great design and quality material, it is a shame that it keeps disconnecting.

Good Controller
Better than the standard Xbox controller due to the hall effect sticks
