Is the clothing still breathable after spraying or is it waxy/plasticy?

Very breathable. It’s like water - the clothes look like they’ve been watered down after spraying. No odor - dries quickly - no residue. Effective. On safari to Kenya ; no bug bites!

Black trigger sprayer does not spring back out each time & have to pull it out manually. Same issue 2 years ago when sprayer was red. What gives?

Sprayer nozzle gets all gummed up . E mail them directly and they will send you a new sprayer nozzle
