healthy
Sesame seeds, also known as sesame, are a superfood with a rich history of use in various culinary cultures. Native to Africa and Asia, these tiny seeds offer a wealth of nutritional benefits. They are an excellent source of healthy fats, primarily unsaturated fatty acids, which contribute to cardiovascular health. Additionally, they contain high-quality protein, fiber, and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and iron, making them an excellent addition to vegetarian or vegan diets. I am very happy to incorporate it into my diet.

Perfect for my Indian (India) taste and sensibilities. Sesame seeds are a very nutrient dense food.
I use the unhulled light brown sesame seeds all the time. I love their smell, taste and texture, and I can eat them straight out of the bag. Sesame seeds have a very high mineral content, just like a multimineral, and with a cup of sesame seeds you can easily get 100% or more of the recommended daily value of iron, copper, magnesium, and other minerals. One of my favorite recipes with these sesame seeds is this - add two cups of unhulled sesame seeds and 12 mejdool dates (I use the mejdool dates sold by Terrasoul also) to a food processor (I happen to use a Cuisinart food processor, but any food processor would work). Run the food processor for 4-6 minutes (important to not go past this point as the mix will start to become powdery and crumbly if you go too long). When you stop at the right time, the mixture will be soft like dough and easy to shape into balls. I shape the dough into balls and call them "laddoos", a popular Indian (India) dessert that can be made from sesame seeds, among other choices of ingredients. I love my laddoos and eat them throughout the week. The clash of sesame seeds with the dates is very appealing to my taste buds and I feel a touch of my native culture with what I eat. I am also getting lots of nutrition!

Good raw unhulled sesame seeds, 2 lbs is a lot of sesame seeds
These are great, seem fresh, raw, as stated, the hulls are thinner than others I have purchased - no judgment, just an observation - I expect they will be easier to grind than the thicker hulled ones for tahini. They have the hulls so the slight bitter taste as expected (love that little bite ๐). I generally use sesame seeds for making tahini when we are on a hummus jag, and the rest of the time as a garnish - tossing in salads, on breads, so 2 lbs is a bit much for the latter, wish the came in 1 lb bags, I could always buy 2 when craving hummus. I do get tired of pitching half used bags that have gone stale.
